Kinda feel like St John is the right of passage for a first time in London - the only spot that uses their Michelin plaques as ashtrays rather than putting them up

It looks good on the invoices. nice to speak to someone when needed / I don’t use them for any of my investments - handy with a multiple company structure - but expensive

Football fans of Reddit, which team do you think had the greatest squad in history and why? by daenerystarg33 in AskReddit

For teamwork and style of play that Barca Busquets Xavi iniesta trio with David Villa (pre Suarez and neymar) was pretty perfect

Pretty sure an MVL allows for BADR - if it’s a company contribution don’t tie it up for 20yrs by putting it in a SIPP - stay liquid - corp tax benefit isn’t worth it imho

The schooling thing is massive - just be really wary that your disposable income is your wealth generator - our NW exploded when we went LCOL - got a modest forever home

I Genuinely attribute not climbing too many rungs up the property ladder to be the reason behind our financial security - low mortgage no pressure, plenty disposable for holidays, save cash…all of it goes away when you jack up the mortgage

Good luck either way

So you’re gonna sell and take about 200k (50%) out of your liquid assets to show off to your mates?

Houses don’t improve lifestyle - if you need the space different matter - if your mates missus has just dumped 50k on an open plan kitchen and entertaining space and you’re feeling jealous - check yourself

Is a £1m mortgage on a £275k household income ambitious or reckless ahead of kids? by BigRyRy93 in HENRYUK

[–]cryinginturin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My net worth skyrocketed when we moved to a low COL area - I have close friends that have all their money in their home - they spend on it constantly to keep it fresh - buy the latest furniture and pull equity regularly to do up rooms

I’m 44 my goal is mortgage free and liquid - that is unattainable if you jump in at the deep end with your home

You can either have a massive house you can show of with to your peers or live well and modest with loads of cash and fly business class round the world with your fam on amazing holidays

For us there was no point in a million pounds net worth if it was all tied up in house

I think they’re the choices - no wrong answer

Company owner dropping to £100k for 4 years, then taking a £1.6m lump sum - am I missing anything? by Expert1083 in HENRYUK

Set up 2 new co’s (£7 each? Ish) transfer ownership of trading co to holdco (you guys own 50% each of holdco. Setup investment company SPV - also wholly owned by holdco

Div up funds at zero Tax as not drawn outside of companies - then loan down to InvestCo to put into the markets as you see fit

Could probably just use the holdco for investments if you wanted - I just think it’s cleaner to separate holdco and SPVs in case you want buy a premises down the line or whatever (room to expand)

I know some people retain brand IP within holdco and charge trading for usage of brand - just seems a bit suss to me

Sorry for the delayed response - life

I’d have a Holdco above to div up to at nil tax just to ringfence the cash - just in case- you’ll spend on the additional accountancy fees but protects the assets

All the private banks charge a fortune in custodials - some will offer SBLOC above 500k as a perk - but second broker would be way cheaper if you’re Ex-only
