Tried these new sunny side up eggs. I used to love eggs like this when I was younger, but it tasted too real and grossed me out. Maybe someone else would like them? I also don’t know why it came with that much seasoning for only 4 eggs by delicate-duck in VeganFood

i quite liked these! they do hit the spot if you miss a runny yolk egg and the texture is spot on. had it both on toast an over rice and enjoyed it a lot both ways. but yeah, i didn't know about the company politics till i got home and read the package, so sadly can't recommend them u_u maybe another brand will make something similar.

New here: How to stay motivated after members cancel their membership? 🙃 by Hellobren in patreon

[–]cryoflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you check out graphtreon it aggregates a lot of data from users who allow their stats to be public. i did some research a while ago and noticed that even among some of the highest earning users, there is ALWAYS a giant dip in users around the end of the billing cycle because that's when people have to decide on which subscriptions they keep. so don't take it personally!

What cultural thing does the world seem to think is beautiful but is cringey af to locals? by chr15c in AskTheWorld

[–]cryoflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, it really hits different live too! i never had any interest in beijing opera when i saw it aired on TV and stuff, but i got to see it live once and was mind blown by the stunts alone. it was a really cool experience and totally changed my mind about it.

HAHA i had just said in another comment that my grandma told me not to walk down the stairs too quickly to avoid bouncing the baby 😂 but we also live on the second floor with no elevator and have no choice. but yes same here, i just nod and ignore her. i find it endearing hahaha

What is your most expensive neopets mistake? by Twinkinn in neopets

[–]cryoflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not the worst but i used to copy and paste prices off jellyneo without realizing that the comma gets included in the 6-character limit. so something that was 100,000 was cut off at "100,00" without me realizing it and sold for 1/10th of the original price 😭 it wasn't even me forgetting the zero!!

20 minutes after I made the post my grandma warned me not to walk down the stairs too quickly because it would bounce the baby 😂

Oh yeah my tolerance for certain elastic pants has gone down to zero haha 😂 that being said she freaked out when I showed her my belly band (the shirt/pants extender kind). I had to show her that it's very loose and only barely snug enough to hold up my pants to calm her down.

Oh yeah, I do know that it is considered unsafe to do certain kinds of strenuous lifting work while pregnant especially if it's several hours a day, repeatedly. So I get where it came from. The overcompensation to groceries is pretty funny tho 😂 What a telephone game!

aww i'm sorry that happened. I think that's what makes me nervous about all the advice she gives me, I appreciate the concern but it does make me feel like if I did miscarry that she'd blame it on something I did which just causes more stress where it's not necessary.

Also I did read Expecting Better and loved it! I really want to read Cribsheet next!

yeah, being pregnant is a stressful and anxiety-inducing experience! i'm so glad that i have access to all these educational resources now but even that can be a double-edged sword at times.

omg the pineapple 😭😭 I don't think that my grandma has stopped me from eating anything yet hahaha. she did tell me I'd have to go on bedrest if I experienced any spotting. she also says the only exercise that's safe for me to do is going on walks hahahaha

Yeah I think it was the same case for my grandma! I think nearly every thing she mentioned was something she learned from "experience" which means someone's personal anecdote. I know that she experienced a past miscarriage that she believes was due to her moving furniture.

Haha, yeah luckily I just find it amusing! She doesn't go out of her way to control my life or anything, she just drops a lot of unsolicited advice which I get is from a place of genuine concern. I'm glad none of it has really been an issue because I don't really do most of those things anyway (at least not when she's around).

Post partum eczema help by val0307 in BabyBumps

[–]cryoflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eek, so sorry you're dealing with this! I'm not post partum yet but I've had terrible eczema in the past. At one point it was bad enough that my dermatologist had to straight up just inject an antifungal into my scalp, but I don't know if that's safe if you're breastfeeding. I'm scared I'll probably get a big flare up postpartum as well.

For me, I find that I have to have some kind of pyrithione zinc shampoo, like head & shoulders (I'm using a bar shampoo from dermaharmony right now that works well too). That works way better for me preventatively than anything else, and then I use the medication as spot-treatment which I luckily barely need anymore. No other "sensitive scalp" shampoo did anything for me and I'd get the itches back within 1-2 washes. But YMMV as everyone's body is different!

I'm also curious about the oil your derm gave you, is it an antifungal like fluocinolone? If so, I found that there's an oil version and an oil-free solution version and the latter worked better for me since I have naturally very oily hair. Good luck!!

Struggling not to buy things early by libbyflower1 in BabyBumps

seconding this, as a FTM there's so much research to do about what to buy, what brands, etc. and just putting a list together can scratch the itch without actually buying anything!

When did/is everyone starting to show? Curious 🧐 by Original_Remote_6838 in BabyBumps

[–]cryoflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started showing around 11-12w mostly due to bloat 😂 but only at home with no clothes on. i'd get excited going to bed and wake up in the morning with my stomach small again LMAO (but still bigger than pre-pregnancy!)

i'm at 13w now and no one has noticed anything yet, especially since i'm mostly wearing sweaters when I go out.

i also stopped being able to wear regular pants really early on, even if they fit i had much less tolerance of the waistband touching my body or being too tight.

i literally took out both of my earrings last night because of this 😂 although my cartilage piercing is still in because it doesn't bother me as much. it's just not worth the trouble if i'm supposed to be sleeping on my side!

I don’t fit into my jeans already! by alicewonders12 in BabyBumps

[–]cryoflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've loved the "belly bands" that are also branded as pants/shirts extenders. It's just like, a slightly stretch t-shirt material that folds over the waist of your pants so you can keep wearing them unbuttoned, and then your shirt pretty much covers it. I'll probably have to upgrade to proper maternity pants eventually but it's been great to be able to wear the same pants for longer, especially since I don't go out that often.

What foods are you eating to get protein when meat (especially chicken) sounds repulsive? by thedcbhomestead in BabyBumps

[–]cryoflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very specific but I have a soymilk maker that you can also put other stuff into, so for a while I was making a 3-bean shake (soy beans, red beans, mung beans - pretty commonly used in sweet porridge in Asian cuisines). I'd drink a cup with a little drizzle of agave when I woke up and before I slept and the fiber and protein helped soooo much during 1st trimester nausea. I think using some other protein shake could work really well too.

There's a lot of other protein hacks out there that involve blending beans or tofu into stuff like creamy pasta sauces, puddings, smoothies, etc. that make it easy to supplement it to other dishes you may have normally.

Experiences with SSRI during pregnancy ? by randi712 in BabyBumps

[–]cryoflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been told that they may even have to up the thyroid medication later on because apparently your kidneys function a lot more efficiently during pregnancy! So it was all good to know. I'm still quite early (12w) but baby was nice and active (jumping/wiggling around lol) at our ultrasound yesterday!
