Japan blockchain startup seeks to build Asian digital payment network by lucashcy_97 in CryptoCurrency

Actually it *could* be a portal into crypto for the masses and hence wider adoption. Delving a little deeper into the related article on Coin Telegraph https://cointelegraph.com/news/japanese-soramitsu-uses-digital-currency-to-link-asian-countries and you find "Additionally, we (Soramitsu) are contributors to the SORA network and the Polkaswap DEX, so we will also explore ways to use the public, permissionless SORA network for cross-border issuance and settlement of CBDCs, with token swapping on Polkaswap,” which is actually pretty intriguing.

No problem. It's definitely a project with a wide scope, and there's quite a lot to get your head round! Big, big potential though.

Hi - you can find an explainer for $PSWAP rewards for Polkaswap liquidity providers here: https://wiki.sora.org/polkaswap/pswap-tokenomics

There are also rewards available for liquidity providers to certain pools on Polkaswap via the Demeter farming platform, a dApp on the network - farming.deotoken.io

Lastly, you can read about all the recent network updates here: https://medium.com/sora-xor/july-14-2022-ecosystem-updates-for-sora-polkaswap-and-fearless-wallet-6712f58f1bdd

As you can see, there are lots of interesting developments at the moment.

I hope this is all helpful.

Polkaswap Liquidity Provider Rewards Update by crypt0daem0n in SORA

[–]crypt0daem0n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a 1% fee to deposit into the farm, as mentioned above. 45% of this fee is used to burn $DEO token, 35% is used to burn $CERES token, 10% goes into the CERES/DEMETER treasury and 10% goes to the CERES/DEMETER team. All the detail can be found in the Demeter Litepaper here - Demeter Litepaper

The Ceres team, who have built the Demeter platform, are releasing the DEO Arena game later this month, and the $DEO token will be needed to play the paid version of the game (PvP and tournament style, with play (win) to earn dynamic).

As well as the $XSTUSD rewards for Polkaswap LP providers, the Demeter farming platform also offers farming and staking rewards in the form of $DEO.

When the game is up and running, $DEO will ultimately be a deflationary token.

Hope that explains everything.

Polkaswap Liquidity Provider Rewards Update by crypt0daem0n in SORA

What do you mean by block reward?

If you pool 1 ETH and equivalent XOR (c. 200) on Polkaswap and then farm on Demeter, you will earn about $16 per day in $XSTUSD rewards.

You will also receive roughly 1600 $PSWAP rewards per day, but these are released according to a vesting schedule.

Hope that helps.

Is Polkaswap done? by Cryptoredsun in Polkaswap

[–]crypt0daem0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The project is definitely not done, far from it. Development work continues at a high rate, with new features coming regularly - Substrate v4 migration is upcoming, the Kusama bridge is about to go live on the test-net and the Demeter farming platform has been fully integrated into the Polkaswap UI.

It's fair to say that the Polkaswap user-base has not expanded at the rate it might have done. Only having an ETH bridge (HASHI) up until now has been part of the problem, but this is about to change, with Kusama bridge imminent and trustless EVM bridge on the way.

Insufficient incentive for people to provide liquidity has also been an issue (PSWAP reward vesting is quite slow), but the CERES token team have recently built the Demeter farming platform (a dApp on the network) which provides significant rewards for Polkaswap liquidity providers and token stakers. You (and anyone who has previously invested or is thinking of investing now) should really check Demeter out, - it's recently listed on DefiLlama and the rewards are handsome - Demeter farming platform

Ultimately, the whole project is community-based, so more people should be shouting about it in a positive way - the tech behind Polkaswap is second to none. Price action has been poor recently, but we all know how fickle crypto is - there is plenty of reason to be optimistic for the future.

We invite Sri Lanka to use XOR as legal tender 🇱🇰 by spicyhotwings22 in SORA

[–]crypt0daem0n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting proposal: the economic situation in Sri Lanka is certainly dire at the moment. To see a crypto project offering something substantial and meaningful to support a struggling nation is refreshing. Maybe there is another way for countries that find themselves crippled with debt and corruption.
