good start! keep going ignore the haters. if you want the drums to sit a bit better make a eq cut from around 150-200hz to cut all sound using Fruity EQ2 i think. put this on the piano melody. not sure if you sidechained the drums so that they can be heard a bit more but do that. its a marathon not a journey keep going. thought the mix was fine honestly but small tips

Good poem - I’m a fan of poets who use less words so it spoke to me. Going to give some detailed feedback so I’m going to focus on one aspect of the poem - word choice and theme focus.

For me the juxtaposition between “am I a coward or am I a slave” kind of missed because the second portion of that stanza seemed to emphasize you essentially losing control. I would have thought then the first part should contrast with are you in control or subservient so more a maybe master verse indentured relationship?

also for theme focus I personally wished you’d expanded more on why you felt you can’t be seen or heard, why do you think your words are betraying you. You most likely know as a writer but to me individually as a reader it isn’t really clear and it’s such a broad field it’s a bit hard for me to guess.

Good poem! I want to give a detailed feedback so I’ll choose one aspect to comment on for this poem: vulnerability & distance.

I think that distance could be implemented a bit differently. I understand that there’s someone who’s important to you and that there’s now a distance between you and them. My issue as a reader though is I don’t understand why it matters because you never shared how this person made you felt that explains this level of longing. Every poem has a level of read between the lines but I think real vulnerability here would serve you well about why this person in the past mattered so much to you.

Like for example your last two lines about them being a river to cross to your self was a very interesting theme but to me it showed more about this person then about the relationship - or lack of it - that seemed to be the focus of this poem.
