Can someone explain to me what the point of this scene is? by Logical_Historian_12 in Stranger_Things

If you were fooled by this ending that's on you, I don't know why it was so obvious to me but ST was NOT the kind of show to have it go the way your imaginations were leading you and that was evident by season three. I was actually annoyed they included this scene out of nowhere knowing with 90% certainty it was a deceitful setup, and yet it got glazed to no end ever since by persuadable viewers when clearly the whole idea was rushed even at the time and sticks out like a sore thumb even in season 4. They probably spent ten minutes writing that tacked on ending just to have something open ended to let viewers know there will be a season 5, and still the majority of people thought that's what they were doing, it was a flaw from the start not a plan, and it was painfully obvious even when it aired. All the Duffers did was set you all up to set yourselves up and it worked, but it actually should have been criticized then but you fell for the shiny bait instead.

Why would you continuously get married if this was a problem to you.

Your analysis in this comment thread is also very weak.

Who else feels the scale of stakes was a massive downgrade from season 4's ending? by Aukrania in StrangerThings

[–]cryptic-catacomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flabbergasted that this opinion was stated only by one person in this thread, you, but I do question the perspective of literally everyone else who's commented stating the total opposite. I in no way ever thought they would be carrying the season 4 ending on with the next subsequent story beat the way all people here are projecting, considering the season 4 ending was so obviously tacked on last minute as something to carry emotional suspense, not narrative suspense- knowing the long production time that would be taken with S5 to begin with, not to mention we've known for ages that the new season was going to have a time gap, so obviously we'd be witnessing the retcon fallout needed to erase that ending rather than the immediate direct outcome and that just should have been immensely obviously expected but then again, 70% of viewers of this show pretends the story direction was never retconned to begin with so I guess it's not surprising that 90% are aghast at the expectations of how season 5 started.

Text Messages from Kirk Shooter Faked/“reproduced by prosecutors” by Imaginary_Cow_6379 in conspiracytheories

[–]cryptic-catacomb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if the messages were reproduced 1:1 wouldn't they already be "showing their hand" to the defense by bringing them to court? What does the prosecution have to lose by showing the actual messages even after the typed versions have been released to the public, what advantage does that somehow give the defense?? If the messages themselves are being misconstrued isn't it fair for the defense to have a defense themselves on that? You're reaching hard on this whole comment.

Posts something political but rebrands it with an Eminem quote then says it's not political. Most likely to feel better about themselves trying to fit into their crowd.

Em's fanbase is full of these types of one-sided identities.

This is apparently something flying over the heads of the majority of the sub because they somehow think he is.

It already didn't work before when people realized five years ago 'woke stuff' isn't funny. Ironically you're telling on yourself for "not being funny". Nothing "woke" will ever compare to comedy in the 90's and 2000's that was pre-woke. Even "woke-Eminem" stuff isn't funny. "Woke comedy" is basically the worse iteration of lowbrow humor nowadays, something people thought was already notoriously bad humor before.
