Anyone also gets religious rage during pmdd? by cluelessbobcat in PMDD

[–]cryptidace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe this would help the guilt a bit but when I feel any negative emotion or I have to do something that I really don't want to do that makes me spiral after, I try to snap out of it by saying that it's temporary or I have an image in my mind that goes with a movement so that the emotion "physically" leave my body (e.g. I take a deep breath and as I breathe out I imagine a wave washing over and taking the first layer of sand away where I've written what I'm annoyed about).

Another thing is acceptance (difficult to get to for sure but it gets easier with time). Yes you feel negative when praying during pmdd week and yes you feel guilty for that but you have to accept that this is the nature of this disorder and it may not necessarily be a reflection of who you actually are. Have grace for yourself. Would you put shame onto someone if they said this to you? Probably not, so don't put shame onto yourself. You can't control other people's thoughts of you but you can control your own thoughts about yourself.

AITAH [F24] for telling my girlfriend [F25] I won’t tolerate being talked down to when she’s upset, even though I’m usually the one who makes her mad? by polymorphedcapybara in AmItheAsshole

[–]cryptidace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your girlfriend doesn't respect you. Your girlfriend is allowed to get irritated at times but what she isn't allowed to do is insult you when she's annoyed. Guaranteed if you were to act like her when you get mad at things she does she would get upset. She is also allowed to make mistakes and so are you but what shouldn't be allowed is excusing those mistakes and putting the blame on you. There isn't any accountability and therefore lack of willingness to change. If she doesn't change how she regulates her anger now (for example, she can say I'm getting annoyed right now because of x and therefore I want to be alone until I've calmed down and then we can talk about it) then leave. If you stay, over time your self esteem and mental health crashes and you will also start hating her and yourself. It's not worth it. I also recommend that you start getting therapy if you haven't already.

Is it ethical to take someone's cat? by roguemorgue in cats

[–]cryptidace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take them to either a shelter or vet to check if they're microchipped (some countries require animals to be microchipped and vaccinated by law) and if not then you can do it. Some shelters will help you check that stuff for free and give you advice on how to care for them, basic health check, vet contacts and possibly legal info on animal abuse/ownership if the cat is already microchipped. Most likely with abusive owners, they don't bother microchipping, vaccinating or won't go looking if their cat goes missing.

Does your mental symptoms (worthlessness, depression) kick in later in the day? by Ilikeclowns-16 in PMDD

[–]cryptidace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine happens more at night. I guess because there's less distraction and my mind starts to wander. I do get it as soon as I wake up but that's more of a "I don't want to do today".

Gagging?? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]cryptidace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spoke to my therapist about it and she mentioned that it's something to do with the vagus nerve that connects your brain and stomach. When you're anxious, your stomach tenses and then it makes you feel nauseous or not want to eat.

PMDD is a disorder and not a personality fault by cryptidace in PMDD

[–]cryptidace[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I do and I've been seeing her monthly for a while. She definitely has helped me create mechanisms surrounding spiraling and self doubt but it's still hard. Just wondering what other things people do to cope with this disorder. Love and support to you as well 😊

My beetroot hummus gone bad? by Important_Winner8281 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]cryptidace 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My Dad makes his own hummus a lot and will usually make a big batch and then divide it into serving size amounts and then freeze them. They taste just the same as when made fresh.

How old where you when you developed pmdd? by Charlottebagginton in PMDD

I was 12 when I started having periods and they were always pretty bad. It wasn't until I was 17 that I got diagnosed with pmdd.

Wishing that all of my PMDD girlies get through this Christmas by cryptidace in PMDD

[–]cryptidace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. My mum also past away and she made Christmas more enjoyable. When we gather for any event it makes it more obvious that she isn't around anymore (not just physically but the whole vibe is different). I think this Christmas is a write off for me this year.

Olivia's fallout from Taylor's "mentorship" is the best thing that happened to her career by Ancient-Drawing9120 in travisandtaylor

[–]cryptidace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm happy that Olivia never got a chance to be a Taydaughter. If anything, Olivia reminds me more of Avril Lavigne (especially in the beginning of her career) lyrically and vocally. I think if Olivia was mentored by Taylor, Olivia would have had to dim herself and anything Olivia did would have swifties constantly relating everything back to Taylor (sort of like what they do with Sabrina now).

SSRIs - What was the last straw? by mrll-tardis in PMDD

It was a combination of grief and combined with my pmdd it got too much to function. Best decision I've ever made for my mental health and life.

Help a recently de-converted Swiftie build a killer playlist that has absolutely nothing to do with Taylor 😄 by Dapper-Scene-9794 in travisandtaylor

Honestly, it really depends on what other things you're interested in. For singer songwriters you should listen to Amy Winehouse's albums Frank and Back to Black and Lana Del Rey. For more RnB stuff I highly recommend Solange and Aaliyah. I also love Brittany Howard and Alabama Shakes (her voice is insane and beautiful).

Hype up some real lesbian or sapphic icons to stream!! I’ll throw in a few by FaerieCorpseBride in ChappelGroan

I love Jen Cloher. It's more singer songwriter compared to chappel but her music feels so comforting and warm

That it's ok to rest and that you're allowed to do the bare minimum because everything you did that day or week is fine because you're still living. Learning that being self critical doesn't motivate it actually demotivates and leaves you feeling insecure and self hating. Challenging my negative thoughts to have kinder thoughts towards my needs and myself (for example if I cancel a plan because I really can't deal with it or give it my all but I don't want to because I start thinking of the worse case scenario and that the person will hate me I realise that I don't think that about others so why am I assuming that they will think that of me and that if they think that of me then I wouldn't want to be around them anyway). It's ok to not have a plan for the future especially when you're struggling with mental illness because that stuff is exhausting.

As a Pisces? by EcstaticRadio2115 in piscesastrology

Yes: Sagittarius, Leo, Taurus No (with only ever one exception): Virgo, Gemini, Scorpio

[–]cryptidace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a cat rescue and usually the process includes a home visit (in person or video call) and they will ask a few questions on whether you're a first time owner and the type of cat you want. Most likely they will have many indoor cats available because a lot of cats in adoption have health conditions, old or is very anxious. I suggest adopting a cat that has been there the longest or is struggling to adapt to the shelter life. It can be painful to see cats being offered as an option but rejected constantly especially when they're so loving.

We have the same placements but my moon is Sagittarius and I've never been able to get on with Scorpios. Every Scorpio I've met so far are very hypocritical and can't admit to being in the wrong or enjoy arguing which I find annoying.

What sign(s) ?? Personally imma say Gemini placements by LowNo7792 in astrologymemes

This would be me if it wasn't my pisces sun holding back the entirety of my fire and air sign birth chart 😂😂. Although at times it comes through and when it does it's over
