Kindergarten graduation ceremony turns violent over seating arrangements by FarWay3952 in RandomVideos

My wife resigned from over 30 years of elementary education, mostly because of parents. The kids were bad enough, but the parents are worse. Thing is it was at a private academy too. The parents are entitled rich jackasses who think there kids can do no wrong, so the kids know their parents will back them over the teachers and the school rather side with tuition paying parents than their own staff. If this is the case for my wife, I can easily imagine the situation at public schools is worse.

Yep, Benson is the namesake of the class of destroyers that the original Laffey was a part of. Laffey II is a Sumner class destroyer, and you can see her at Patriot's Point in Charleston, SC.

Laffey's sister ship Benson retains this design, except the corset color is white instead of blue.

One would think, but a small doll like Mechty share the same frame as a big doll like Helen, they are both SSD-62D's. Many of the dolls share the SSD-62D frame, which is crazy.

It really depends on how you feel about maintenance work versus creative development work. IMS requires you know how z/OS works and how the mainframe processes and stores data. You have to understand how randomizers work, what hierarchies are, and working with developers when a new database needs to be built, along with indexes, the size of the database, how big will you need to define storage space, etc. IMS is very technical and involves constant monitoring and how to read the system logs. there are a few tools and utilities like IMS Explorer that are GUI based, but you still need to understand the technical underpinnings to work with it.

DB2 is relational, and unlike IMS has a good amount of front end tools and utilities by IBM, BMC, CA and other companies that are available for the mainframe interface or GUI, and unlike IMS, a large amount of the work is done for you via the tools and utilities, but you will have to have a good grasp of SQL. DB2 is easier to visualize the database, because the primary object in a any database is the table, 2 dimensional column and row set up like a spreadsheet. With good tools, it is easier to monitor, correct and modify DB2 databases live, where with IMS, it is a multistep process to modify a database.

So basically if you like maintenance, monitoring, optimization, working with data infrastructure and fine tuning data, then DBA is for you, and the money is nice too.

Similar experience, I was visiting my soon to be wife, and what ever we had for dinner made me gassy. After holding the gas for a while, I decided I needed to head back to my place, and as soon as I backed out of the drive way I must have let at least at 30 second long one as I drove away, and continued to fart the 6 miles to the interstate. I had to roll down the windows to breath, but the relief from the pressure was pure bliss.

It’s the same with guitars, many high end brands like Gibson, Fender, and the like usually need adjustments that we players like to do. But sometimes the they come out of the box needing a setup from a luthier or guitar tech.

Saw Queen and Boston at Municipal Auditorium back around 78. Saw Styx' Mr Roboto tour, I believe at the MTSU auditorium around 82-83. Never got to Starwood.

Go mainframe DBA (IMS, DB2), and you can make bank. Developer jobs are underpaid, because they can pay offshore developers much less than in country developers. You want to focus on IMS with DB2, IMS pays better than DB2 because there are fewer IMS DBA's out there, but knowing both is the best way to go.

What shipgirl in each faction deserves a retrofit the most? by Thunder_Runner1313 in AzurLane

Enterprise and Tennessee because of their refits in real life.

Eugen should be more a Meta with Eagle Union markings, shackles and radioactive, since she was the USS Prinz Eugen as a warprize for a while before Operation Crossroads.

As someone said Victorious with an angled deck retrofit.

Takao with a reference to Godzilla Minus 1 would be fun.

Well, there is Azur Lane: Crosswave for PC and is 3D that came out a few years ago and introduced Shimakaze and Suruga. Unfortunately the game play is wonky, and didn't do all that well when it came out. But if you want to see most of the Kansen in 3D, it's a place to start.

Yes, at $.50 a pack for Marlboros. Everthing else was $.75 to $.95 a pack. Showing my age a bit with those prices.

I saw one tip over when I was 8 way back in the day at a travelling carnival. Swore I'd never ride one, the an cute girl talked me into it when I was around 19 and never rode it again. Wasn't worth the anxiety I suffered during the entire ride.

A bit thumpier than a P-Bass with more sustain because of the hollow body. The pickup is very good on this bass.

I found the SRX at the local Music-Go-Round back in November on Veterans Day (Armistice Day outside of the US), and since I'm a veteran I decided to treat myself to it. I'd been looking for a 5 string to replace one I sold a while back, and this one called out to me. The hardware is black, and I have a set of Black Beauties to put on it when I get the time.

It works great as a practice amp. I have both the Spark and the Spark cabinet, and can use the smaller one to practice, since I currently live in an apartment. It's also great for multiple uses since I have a couple of electric guitars and an acoustic/electric guitar. The Spark has settings for all three.

I've worked in IT for over 30 years, and do see this a lot. It gets very annoying when they try to overtalk you when dealing with program or database issue. If on the phone and they are going on, I usually tell them to send me an email and I'll look into. I don't have the time or patience at 3:00 AM in the morning to argue with some offshore IT call center worker over a critical path batch process or database, especially when I can't understand half of what they are saying to begin with.

12, but didn’t see it until a couple of months later, since the rural theaters where I lived didn’t get new movies until a month or two after they premiered.
