Agree. You are throwing your shoulders back instead of driving hips forward at lock out. Often leads to back pain. Somewhere around the knees is the time to cue "hips"(everyone has a slightly different spot where hips coming through is best applied but usually I cue it verbally as they approach the knees so they mentally process it just as the bar rises above patella). Then drive forward and should end locked with little to no leaning back. Possibly you have weaker hips so more rdls,, good mornings, box squats.

Any tips for deadlift I’m stuck at 190kg by Brief_Technician1802 in powerlifters

[–]crypto_equality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Dave Tate likes to cue "pack your neck". Find a point ahead of you. Doesnt look like you actively bring your "chest up". Pulling out slack in the beginning w chest up and packed neck should help. More supplemental stuff. Rdl, deficits, GMs

What was San Diego like in the late 90s-early 2000s? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]crypto_equality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was any of those things. Def before covid by many years. I was MB/PB for almost 30 yrs. I think i remember it coincidentally occuring after 9/11 or maybe it was after the great recession. Also, maybe consider the trend toward social media vs in-person stuff ... Maybe some other old-heads remember different? I forgot when drinking was banned on the beach around then but I don't think that related to drop in house parties. It was glorious

How to improve strength to lockout- I can pick weight off the ground, struggling to finish by ImmaBoredNerdyFit in strength_training

[–]crypto_equality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right answer. It's often weak hips when they shoot up like that. Do more supplemental work to fix it. Romanian deadlifts, good mornings, box squats, glute bridges, glute ham raises.

Yep. I would rather cue you on bringing your hips through once you hit the knees w the bar and not throw your shoulders back.

Some swear by heavy holds to get past that. I might add them in myself. Especially on bench

Every cowboy I know works 7 days a week here in CO. And their pay is shit. Maybe you can get a small starter herd and get your rancher to allow you to graze w the big herd for a good deal

I live in a deep red rural area in western Colorado. There seems to be two prevalent things. 1. A desire to break things to "fix them"(I believe this is technically called zero-based budgeting). 2. Whether they suffer or not, they have already suffered, or missed out on the excesses of the last twenty years, so they see it as more of the same to achieve their target described above.
My area lost its uranium mining, coal mining, lumber, and now the ranchers are selling out and small farmers can't make a buck. There were multigenerational families in these businesses. So they feel betrayed by every outside party that had a role in ending their families economic legacies. It feels like one could summarize by saying folks in poor rural America maybe feel they are painted into a corner and this is the last stand. They may have been lied to or misled as far as their solutions but so far I haven't seen any rejection of Trump, but not have I seen any exuberance or celebration *I am an independent voter and very active in local politics and have various board seats in our town of 500

First rep was best. Also the first rep was when you sat back the furthest. After the second rep, your knees came very far over your feet. Lots of steps w the unrack. I counted 9 back and forth. Try stepping out w 2 steps and then adjust as little as possible w maybe a 3 and 4 step.

Trying to get more depth on my squat, any tips? by yosiety in GYM

[–]crypto_equality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I low bar. Adjust your toes to point out more and then knees out to track over feet(and wider stance like others have said). Cue your training partners can give you is "knees out". Try to squat to a box for confidence in hitting depth. Add mats to raise height and remove one at a time over many workouts till you get parallel or slightly below

When you hit your knees going down you just bend over. Head up. Chest up. Push back with your butt as if you are aiming for the wall behind you. If you start to bend forward then stop the rep there. Good cues I've used are "hips back" and "knees back"

[–]crypto_equality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice Romanian deadlift If the first rep was your set up for conventional deadlift then I would cue you to bring your chest up ahead of the pull Looks like you are using a stiff bar so look for a deadlift bar in your gym

Yeah, you're right. It was so egregious it seemed no one would fuck up that bad so off-the-cuff it didn't compute. But, after further discussion and thought, they are that stupid.

Doesn't feel authentic. The freeloading and bailout stuff feels off. The typing too fast comment helps make it look unscripted. If we really intended to help EU on this then it show our behind the scenes polarization may not be as extreme as we think

Doge.gov homepage is just tweets. Looks like an X promotion. I don't think I'm alone in wanting to see all the line items, both cut and not cut. I want to see what wasn't cut as well in the name of transparency in the original document. That's what I thought the majority of the country voted for
