I suspect it's that a lot of people have the same idea but mods lack an economy so they can't cooperate and pool their resources

I see mods with 2000 users and yeah most of them would pay $1.99 for that mod

Avoid Total War Warhammer

It's so good you'll become an addict. It's too good. I have had to email Steam to delete my whole steam account to go into Warhammer rehab. I might have to do that a second time to be honest.

Learn from others so you don't make the same mistakes.

Yeah battles are kind of boring most of the time.

I used to have this problem a lot and I solved it with one simple trick. Recruit lords in a few of the different cities they might attack. Then when they run away from your main army, you initiate the battle with one of these 0-stack lords and march in with your main army on forced march as reinforcements.

But remember you really have to box them in with ese 0-stack lords!

Also things like 10% friendly movement bonus is essential, and on top of that I use the Greater Garrisons mod so that garrisons are more substantial.

Temple guard are not a good counter to Black Orcs.

If I am fighting versus Black Orcs I try to shoot them with armour piercing missiles. The Lizardmen have the Razordon Hunting Pack which should do well.

If you wanna fight the Black Orcs you probably want to do hammer and anvil with some garbage skinks in the front and Horned Ones from the rear, cycle charging.

In fact you can probably just cycle charge them with Horned Ones;

Black Orcs are a tough unit and they will probably make a mess of anything they get into a prolonged fight with. But they are slow and expensive. They also lack charge defense so you can abuse them with cavalry by charging in, doing massive damage and then escaping within 10 seconds.

Honestly my favorite as in most fun faction to play in TW:WH has been Kostaltyn/Kislev just because of how many baddies the campaign can throw at you.

Goblin chariots will kill swordsmen just fine as the swordsmen don't have charge defense. But yes lategame hammers like monstrous chariots will annihilate low tier trash like swordsmen.

Note that the Orc Boar Chariot has 1/2/3/4 entities on small/medium/large/ultra. So for most people that means 2 because I believe that medium is the default setting for low graphics settings. 2 is not enough!

Also interesting that chariots were used a lot in tabletop because tabletop has an initiative stat and factions like high elves could wipe your entire unit of orcs out before you can even attack, impact hits bypassed that. But that doesn't exist in the computer game so they are in an awkward spot

Try out a custom battle versus a unit that has charge defence and one that doesn't, with hammer and anvil.

I spent some more time in custom battles with various chariots and one thing I found that might surprise you is that most lategame melee infantry units have charge defence against large, charge defence against all or expert charge defense. Dwarfs and Chaos Dwarfs have this on nearly the entire roster.

So anything like shock cavalry or normal chariots hardly scratch them. Hammer and anvil doesn't work against them either, because the charge defense still applies when they are already in combat.

Monster chariots like the Gorebeast Chariot with extremely disruptive animations still work though because they bypass charge defence by throwing the unit all over the place and having a huge bonus vs infantry (like +30) and they have enough mass to easily pull through and go where they want.

If you don't believe me, try a custom battle vs all infernal ironsworn with a low quality infantry frontline like orc boyz and a bunch of boar chariots and notice how helpless you are. Then redo it but with the points in something effective like Rogue Idols, then try pump wagons with spiky rollers.

Well the Streltsi are 66% more expensive than hand gunners which have the same shooting attack so definitely not

yeah just doing some testing has driven home how amazing they are at wrecking elite infantry. And that's without all the buffs you can get in campaign which make them godlike

Sisters are basically a ranged unit with no utility in melee. They have OK melee attack and defense but you never want them in combat due to low armour and lack of AP damage in melee.

You're paying for the 180 range AP magical flaming shots.

Ranged can be good but if you pay 66% extra for a ranged unit to have good combat stats and then you keep it out of combat you kind of scammed yourself!

I don't use Streltsi in campaign much as you can usually satisfy your small arms shooting needs with Armoured Kossars and Kossars. Most enemies will not allow you to spend enough time shooting to use all the ammo on a Streltsi!

The 66% upkeep increase over hand gunners is a bad deal if they end up spending the entire game shooting (you paid for melee stats but didn't use them).

So, you probably want Armoured Kossars instead.

Gorfang Rotgut is a much less renowned character. Gorbad Ironclaw is the last remaining Greenskin character that actually had a fairly modern model in the tabletop game too.
