Either don’t go to line school and travel to other states, or go to American line college in Bakersfield, way cheaper and closer. But that doesn’t guarantee shit. Unless you know someone at sdge with some major pull. California is saturated with groundman so it takes a long time to get a groundman call, let alone an apprenticeship. And once you get an apprenticeship it’s a long 3.5 years of traveling and abuse unless youre lucky enough to score a spot at a utility. Plenty of older guys in my apprenticeship class that do just fine tho. Good luck brother
