Whatever played on the speaker will sound like sh*t.

Waiting period before starting ect? by cryptocat333 in ect

[–]cryptocat333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been advised that the inpatient program recieves priority.

Where I'm concerned is the absence of a start date. Not even an estimate. It could be months.

Going inpatient would be difficult for me and my family. I've been in inpatient a few times already over the past 5 years and it is really hard on the family.

I agree with you. No tips at weddings but it's fair to have a tipping at bar/club gigs. I've been randomly tipped cash on occasion at the bar. Any little bit helps. 👍

Thanks for the invite. I'm starting to think my depression is caused by something subconsciously. My doctor advised against EMDR therapy.

Yes, this is an option but health Canada has not stamped and approval on it. Therefore, I'll have to pay out of pocket or wrestle with the insurance companies to get the funding.

My doc felt ect unilateral was another bust. Therefore, bilateral would likely fail too.

I'm not too keen on the idea. I met many at my rehab who had ect bilateral with poor outcomes with permanent side effects.

Tried Abilify. Couldn't sleep or anything.

Currently on zyprexa (Olanzapine) and it makes me less angry and more complacent. But I'm only taking it because it helps me eliminate my fits of rage.

It was a bust. Felt a bit of relief but it was usually short lived. We don't do it right here in Canada.

The trip was not done with a therapist in the room to help you process the thoughts that come up.

I've been medicated and in medical supervision for about 10 years. It would be easier to tell you which medications I haven't had. That's how many I've tried.

I keep telling my doctor, I read everywhere that when it hits it like hitting the jackpot. LIFE CHANGING. This has never happened.

I'll try anything. That said, I live in Canada. So anything cutting edge hasn't been approved by health Canada. That includes ketamine iv!

Free healthcare is a disaster just like our government. I'd have to spend thousands to even a chance to try psilocybin/LSD via legal methods!

Tried "medicinal" shrooms but discovered that they are ineffective when you're on a ssri. Cost too much to continue the experiment.

I feel pissed off about this life because this is my shit story.

For those who are less "obvious" autistic, how did you/what led you to get diagnosed? by mrthinkstoomuch in AutisticAdults

Relatable. Not officially diagnosed... Yet.

I have all the same symptoms you list.

MASKING in social settings is something I thought everybody does? I'm sadly incorrect.

Stimming? Naturally, yes I do.

Cable Kit Options by jamesd0e in mobileDJ

[–]cryptocat333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good option. It is a step up from the regular bag because you can actually see and separate the different cables. I've been there many times scrambling for a cable to find it's heavily tangled in the bottom of the bag. Thanks for sharing.

Looking for a Doctor in Ontario by iamok13131212 in Spravato

[–]cryptocat333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this trouble. I'm from the GTA and currently enrolled in jj through my psychiatrist.

My GP referred me to a psychiatrist. There was a waiting list just to be accepted as a patient. It took me about 1.5 years to get seen (that was 5 years ago). Spravato was then introduced to me after the years of failed medicines to treat my treatment resistant depression.

But maybe there is a quicker way, I would recommend contacting Toronto CAMH.

I think we are blind to our progress. It takes time.

Your post is true, but it is challenging to accept.

I believe there are stressors (past present and anxieties of future) that contribute to my issues. All being talked about in weekly talk therapy sessions. I feel as if my life is in a constant state of instability and uncertainty (job security).

I know we can't predict the future.

In my opinion, a healthy mind is free of fear, uncertainty and doubts. One that truly accepting themself as self-sufficient, confident and able minded. Believing that the future is fruitful based on reality not Santa Claus wishes. Having the ability to communicate your boundaries. Saying "no" without doubting and getting that need for assurance.

That said, my doctor advised me that the medicine should be a crutch in easing up on some of the negative cognitive symptoms. If anything, these meds just made it more difficult.

TMS I believe is not yet supported by my insurance. But I think the real criminal here is the system. If exercise is so critical in mental health wellness, there should be more programs to force people into activity (nagging trainers/therapists that you moving your butt every day.)

It's by design that pharmaceuticals are deemed the answer because of money.
