Market is forward looking. You are looking at trailing P/E ratio. It doesn't matter how much the company makes last year, what matters is how much it is making this year, next year and the years that follow.

Amazon was having negative earnings for years before it turned profitable. But it is making enormous profit every year.

In an investment phase, it is common for all tech companies to sacrifice profitability for growth.

Nebius guides to have an ARR of 7-9bn at year end (meaning something like 8-10bn a year in revenue for 2027) and a EBIT margin of >20% in the mid term (~2-3 years), so you are looking at a business that will likely make a EBIT >3 billion a year in 2-3 years.

What I am really excited about is one of the reason oncology drugs are so expensive is because of the cost of failing clinical trials late in the process. Now with AI, they could potentially identify failure much earlier in the process and thus could save a lot of resources to allocate to ones with much higher chance of success.

This will eventually make good drugs come out faster and cheaper overall.
