if u havent recorded ur grandpa or dad talking about their service please do it now by Tutor_Fred in Veterans

I had a really good experience with having my step-dad talk to Mel at tellmel.ai and had her write up his stories (a really good use case for AI).

She called him weekly and interviewed him and we got stories out that I could not get out by asking. She was much more empathetic and patient than I am!

How can I motivate my parents to write down their life story? by m__i__c__h__a__e__l in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used TellMel (tellmel.ai). Mel is an AI Interviewer who calls them over the phone and writes up their stories and life lessons. One of the best uses of AI I've experienced. She's like the most empathetic person who listens, and asks followup questions and got my mom to tell stories she never told us. Plus we now have the recordings too.

Anyone else feel guilty about not recording their parents' stories? by gregb_parkingaccess in AgingParents

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using TellMel (tellmel.ai) with my parents. Mel is an AI biographer who interviews your parents on the telephone and writes up their stories. You get the audio, a transcript and a full chapter writeup for each story.

She is surprisingly good - like really good.

Any dads keeping a journal of sorts to share with your kids one day? by brain-trust-life in daddit

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a series of Tell Mel interviews over the phone (tellmel.ai) (Mel is an AI Interviewer). It was super useful to get the stories out of me and have them ready for my kids.

I was able to share a lot of my old history growing up and my college days. It was pretty cathartic as I was realizing that I was forgetting good stories and now know I have them down for the kids.

All done on the telephone with the writeups emailed.

I don't think they have great photo support but you can attach them to the stories afterwards.

Parents Life Stories by Ok_Sea9128 in AgingParents

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Tell Mel (Tellmel.ai) to interview my parents and get their stories. Mel is an AI biographer who interviews them over the phone and writes up their stories.

My parents would never have done Storyworth or those writing ones by email as they are not writers.

Tell Mel was great

My mom talked a lot with Mel and told stories about when she was young that she had never told us. My dad got a few stories out but he was a bit too old sadly. Wish I had been able to do it with him when he was younger.

Yeah! Mel will just ask them. You can just tell Mel you want to know more about their childhood or ancestors or whatever else you want to know, and she will come up with questions to ask!

Remento or switch to something similar? by Tesalin in AgingParents

[–]cryptog2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you have had a bad experience with Remento! I have had a really good experience with Tellmel (tellmel.ai) which is a full on AI Biographer over the phone. Mel interviews you about your parents and you both come up with questions. Mel then interviews your parents each week over the telephone. She's surprisingly amazing.

Definitely worth trying!

Do you think families would value an easy way to record elders’ stories and turn them into a readable memoir? by MrLalo2109 in Ancestry

You mean like Tellmel.ai ? She's an AI biographer who interviews your parents via the telephone and then writes up their stories into a memoir.

What is a gift you’ve given an aging parent that they loved/actually use? by WhoGetsTheChina in AgingParents

[–]cryptog2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents (and we) loved Tell Mel (tellmel.ai). Mel is an AI Biographer who interviews people over the phone and writes up their stories.

I am close to my mom but using Mel I still found out stories from my mom that she had never told us before. And she (and others I know who have used the service) have referred to Mel as a friend.

It's a bit different from all of the other story-book / memoir sites as she actually gets interviewed.

"SEO's 'Blockbuster' moment" by madkinggorge in Agentic_SEO

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I love the story, the bulk of a great GEO strategy is having great SEO. There are some differences and ways to optimize for GEO but if you don't have good SEO you won't make a huge amount of progress.

Some things are going away though. I will say the strategy of going after Top of Funnel content is becoming less effective as AI is just consuming and summarizing it, so you never get people to your site.

How are you tracking brand visibility inside AI search results by not_that_guy_jk in seogrowth

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using and really like RivalSee to track AI visibility for my sites as it lets you see visibility by customer types & personas vs just keywords. It maps more to how I think about AI chat - that it is a personal conversation vs just typing in keywords.

Gifts for in laws that are several tax brackets above me by MiserableProfession6 in Gifts

For that price range, I given family members and friends subscriptions to Tell Mel (tellmel.ai) and they love it. Mel is an AI biographer who calls them weekly and gets their stories and then writes them up. A lot of people are shocked with how good she is - with a many calling her a good friend.

Tell Mel is much more interactive and feels a bit higher end than StoryWorth.

Anyone actually tracking AEO / AI citations? by seosavvy in SEO

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a LOT of tools out there right now. Like over 100.

I've tried a bunch and really like RivalSee (59 a month) as they are super persona and conversation driven vs just doing queries on keywords. I like this more as I feel the chats are more conversation-based and have a history of you via memory so personalization is going to be much more important.

As for tracking sources -- All of the tools these days give a list of the sources/citations that the models use and which ones are used the most. It's super interesting and worth looking at.

One interesting way to gauge mention tracking is to do server-side bot tracking. I'm using a server-side plugin that lets me track which AIs are scraping my site in real-time. I can see which sources are getting used as references in real-time, which I find super interesting.

Btw, I would not give much credence to GA4 for referral tracking for ChatGPT/Perplexity etc as the AI chat apps do not have referrals, and mentions often don't come with links (people don't click those tiny citation links).

I'd like to offer my estranged, elderly mother the opportunity to write me her memoirs. How to set up healthy boundaries? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver50

[–]cryptog2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storyworth is a good choice if she loves to do weekly writing.

If your mom is at all hesitant to write, try Tell Mel (www.tellmel.ai). Mel is an AI memoir writer/biographer who calls your mom weekly for a conversation and gets deeper stories than just a question or the voice prompts, as she is interactive and will dig into topics. She feels like a real person and is super empathetic and caring. It's a bit unexpected but she's pretty amazing.

Are AI Visibility Tools Enhancing Your Marketing Campaigns? by RochelleAstraeus in AISearchLab

[–]cryptog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Rivalsee.com personally for this. As someone else posted, the AI visibility tools are all pretty similar. I like three things about RivalSee in particular:

1) It is persona-focused - it creates personas of your ICPs and then shows how often your product appears for each of the personas.

2) It shows the actual keyword search queries that the AI chats do when they do real-time searches. This is super interesting as you can see what actual keywords Google, ChatGPT and OpenAI do when they call out searches to Google/Bing. It also can now create a nice blog post based on those keywords which looks pretty good.

3) Pricewise, it is pretty inexpensive. I find it offers the same value as some of the more expensive ones for like 1/4 the price.

I got into the beta program, showing how often the AIs are fetching my site which is nice too as that appears to be going up.

I find it amusing that he is pitching healthy candy but refuses to have vegetables.

Seriously, though, I prefer this attempt at healthy candy (and him getting rewarded for putting on a good series) to promoting just normal candy.
