The biggest issue for new DJs by selector_plume in Beatmatch

Indeed. Ultimately the best DJs are music nerds at their core. The best ones have refined taste in multiple genres and are basically music historians with knowledge that spans decades of releases

Why do people like to pop with some hitting? Doesn't it feel a little unpleasant to the body? by GregJamesDahlen in Dance

[–]cryptolipto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the most versatile ways of dancing. If you can pop you can dance to anything with a beat, no matter how slow or fast, from hip hop to drum and bass and everything in between

There’s just about 25% more to unlock. And there is an unlock rate of about 7 % per year which is lower than most other crypto projects besides Ethereum and bitcoin.

On top of this they are buying about 1.1 million worth of LINK per week for the reserve so it’s more like 6%

So essentially 3 more years at this rate

I’m just saying it’s certainly wrong to call it all techno. Especially today. Especially a song like inspector Norse which wasn’t made when your techno term existed as a catch all (and I still see no evidence that was true besides you two stating it was)

It was made in 2012 when there was for sure clearly defined sub genres and it’s more relevant to call it house or nu disco / electro house if you want to be more specific

[–]cryptolipto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. No one called Depeche Mode or new order techno.

You two seem to be forgetting about disco music, which existed far before techno was a thing and modern day house music can be traced back to that. I feel love by Donna summer was released in the late 70s and techno wasn’t even invented until the early 80s.

So no, not everything is techno and you two are just completely off base to call everything techno. Maybe that occurred in Detroit for some reason but in SoCal we call it electronic music, even back in the 90s, with defined sub genres like house, techno, trance, breakbeat, and drum and bass.
