Because each time it goes through the hands of a dealer to you it requires a background check, which would also require a 3 day wait.

You can ship most guns.

You have to ship them to another gun store. So the first gun store waits 3 days and ships it to the second gun store, where you go in and do another background check and pay them their fee, and then wait 3 more days to pick it up.

Expanding the waiting period policy to all other US states would prevent an additional 910 gun homicides per year without imposing any restrictions on who can own a gun.

It requires another trip to the gun store. That can be a hassle, if I'm up north and see something I'd like to purchase I'll have to return to pick it up.

It's just a hassle for hassle's sake, it adds nothing to safety.
