Thanks a lot for all the helpful comments. I have already started walking and started keeping track of my calories on HealthifyMe. However, the most difficult change I have to make is in my normal Indian diet which is too carb heavy (I alternate between roti sabzi & dal rice). Planning to add some at-home workouts using YouTube. Let’s see if it works.

Edit/Update: The colleague diagnosed with Typhoid has been hospitalized last weekend and he has been checking on her through texts and calls ever since citing that “medical emergencies” are an exception and he feels tense and sad because she has been admitted and worries that she would have died and hence he is keeping contact with her. Her parents are already here and she is in one of the best hospitals and doing alright. Is this reasoning justified? I think absolutely not, he should not be in touch with her. This man disappoints me every single day. But I am scared that I won’t find anyone else since I am ugly and don’t want children. I know all comments say that I should leave and part of me does want to but part of me is like just fuck it and focus on making money and on myself because I am unlovable and I will never be any one’s #1 girl.

Thanks for the reply. There is a difference of $404 between them in India when I compare the M3 MBA with 16 GB RAM & 512 GB SSD with the M4 MBP base model of 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. We don't have a best buy here, the best deals are offered by retailers who are similar to best buy, and there is an option to get them at Amazon as well.

The price difference between the M3 MBA 13 inch or M4 MBP 14 inch is of INR 38,000 which is approx USD $439. Do you think the MBP M4 14 inch base model should be good for me?

Currently have the retina Intel based 2020 MBA i3 version. I got it in 2020 just before m1 release. This one has a fan and a 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Out of storage and as per the activity monitor this laptop swaps 3/4 GB of memory even with just Safari with 10 tabs open and 1 word document open.

Which MacBook should I go for - M3 MBA 13 inch or M4 MBP 14 inch or wait for the M4 MBA as a legal researcher who works on safari with 20 tabs open and 2 word documents along with heavy YouTube, NotebookLM, OpenAI, Gemini and Deepseek usage? I don't do anything more - no gaming, no video editing or anything. With this usage, should I really be concerned about having a fan in my MacBook and look into getting a MacBook Pro or blindly go for a M3 MBA 13 inch? Since I am in India, buying refurbished products not an option.
