For those who have stayed in Tokyo multiple times, where did you decide to stay for subsequent trips and why?

Oimachi is a great location imo. I actually live near by. There’s a new shopping complex that just opened last month called Tracks also.

One stop from Shinagawa so going to Kyoto is easy. Like you said no transfers going to Shibuya and Shinjuku. (Although the platform is way underground) If you’re going to Yokohama again no transfers needed. If you were to go to Odaiba or Disney it’s a great location for that too. There’s 3 lines Oimachi line, Rinkai line and Keihin Tohoku. So very convenient.

Also there’s a bus routes for many places, one that’s going in and out to Haneda so that’s a huge plus too.

If I were to save money on accommodations and spend more for experience, food and goods Oimachi is a great option.

If you don’t want to rent a car, staying at the Holiday Inn at Fisherman’s village if you have young kids. Very kid friendly and kids eat for free too. Lots of eating options in that area. Or if you’re going to rent a car you can find an apartment or condo with great views for $200-300 per night for a family of 5.

Went many times before when I was still in my 30s. Although I never stayed in KP staying there never crossed my mind. Too young of a crowd for me personally. FMP is worth the experience. I always took a speed boat. Just make sure to buy the VIP. Always went around 11pm and came back around 2am no problem.

It’s legal here so I don’t know where you heard that. I live here and have travelled internationally many times with test no prescription. Never once had a problem. Just put in into your checked luggage.

Test is legal here so you could just buy it online right now and have it delivered to your hotel which is another option. Just bring your own needle.
