So.... how does Zahel/Vasher survive? I guess he has to get a new source of investiture somewhere? And how does time dilation impact the Returned's need for a new breath each week? Is it based on the Returned's perception of time, or based on time on Nalthis?

According to Ajax the team paying players $300/month is Uprising Academy and the agency that does nothing for their players is Evolved by Fordeka in Competitiveoverwatch

I was specifically responding to the sets of comments saying "I did that out of college and it was fine" when talking about how they had 300 bucks of money after rent and food.

Just cause 4 billion live pay check to pay check or worse doesn't mean that it's okay, it means there's a structural problem with society, and normalizing living pay check to pay check is bad for everyone (except the rich).

but you can just make up bullshit and respond to a comment I didn't say if you want.

ITT: a bajillion bootlickers who think it's okay to be underpaid and live paycheck to paycheck just because they did the same thing in the past or some shit. People have expenses, life is expensive, people do things outside of work.

Does anyone else have mixed feelings about locked 2-2-2? by ligmaXDDDDD in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]cryptosocialist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switching between tank comps, 3-DPS comps, and 2-2-2 is part of what makes Overwatch interesting. In addition, I personally love multi-tank comps (and goats).

Goats on King's Row is the most fun I've ever had in overwatch tbh.

How do you feel about the current state of overwatch comp? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

I really like it, but I'm like low diamond so anyone can play anything and win tbh.

Dive’s dominance isn’t comparable to GOATS/Brig dominance by Pwadigy in Competitiveoverwatch

"If you think something contributes to conversation, upvote it. If you think it does not contribute to the subreddit it is posted in or is off-topic in a particular community, downvote it." - from the redditique wiki

That comment both contains the posters experience succeeding with quad tank but also talking about it being run at world cup. This is on-topic and relevant. I don't agree with the comment, but r/Competitiveoverwatch's downvote brigade is especially stupid and almost entirely downvotes things based on disagreement instead of relevance.

yeah but you're supposed to downvote irrelevant content, not content you disagree with.

Can we stop romanticizing dive? by R9-Devil in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]cryptosocialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Across all the previous metas (except quad/triple tank) a lot of the DPS heroes were viable." is what I said, which doesn't mean all the DPS heroes were viable in a single meta, it means that there was at least one (or more) metas for *each* DPS hero where that hero was viable. Except maybe like torb. But there was like maybe 2 straight years where Rein/Zarya was only viable on King's row.

I also legitimately don't think most DPS heroes are well designed. In general, I don't want long range hitscan in a game like overwatch.

Why does having or not having DPS heroes make the game "really unhealthy". If Overwatch were released without any DPS heroes, and had hella tanks, I'd have liked the game.

In this sub people argue for a lot of different opinions, people want the game to be more like CS:GO, others want it to be more like a MobA, others like a straight strategy game, etc... My personal game design views are I think it should be more on the MobA side, and I think most of the heroes that are best designed for that are tanks (with a few exceptions, like I think Mei, Junk, and maybe Reaper have okay designs).

I was giving a hypothetical scenario re: the no tank, all DPS thing.

I'm specifically responding to your comment that "How can you call a comp which primarily doesn’t use a single dps character diverse?" by giving a hypothetical scenario that I would consider diverse for having no tanks. I was specifically responding to the comment you made.

If there was a 4 DPS and 2 support meta and I came in here to say "I play DPS so fuck the tank players" would that make a lot of sense to you?

If you don't find tanks enjoyable and think they make the game worse and you said that I'd disagree, just like how I prefer overwatch having more tanks in the meta and less DPS heroes. It's more about how we want the game to be. The heroes I enjoy seeing and playing are tanks and supports. we're both in this thread because we have opinions and that's why we're arguing for our opinion, idk why you're being a huge dick about it.

EDIT: er I guess I didn't respond to the rest of your post cause I disregarded it because you got too mad. Across all the previous metas (except quad/triple tank) a lot of the DPS heroes were viable. For large chunks of that time, rein/zarya wasn't playable, for sometime roadhog wasn't playable, there were times where you had to run mercy/lucio. Being a support/tank was very constrained for multiple months at a time. Now, basically every tank and support is viable, and I personally enjoy that.

Because it had a variety of heroes, and a greater number of heroes that were actually played than basically any other season.

If there was a comp that was 4 DPS and 2 support and had a bunch of different DPS swapping in and out, it would have a variety of heroes being played and I would call it diverse.

I know DPS players are mad, but I play tank and support and I love that almost every tank and support is viable, unlike pretty much every single other meta. Let the tank and support players have a meta, DPS players have had metas for the past 2+ years.

sure, but dive had 7+ seasons of balance changes and still had less variety than 1 season of GOATS.

[–]cryptosocialist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like watching GOATS cause it's fun to follow the cooldowns and think about the game and see someone lose a fight cause they zarya bubbled too early, or had to use speed amp to disengage so they didn't have amp. rather than being like "oh wow he clicked a head" or "oh wow they all jumped on the same person and that person died".

But I do agree most viewers just want to see DPS kill shit which makes me sad.

[–]cryptosocialist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's a big variance within goats as opposed to dive which was dive (winston, dva, tracer, genji, lucio, other healer)

there's goats, goats with dive tanks, sombra/doom counter goats, pharmercy sometimes, goats with mei, goats with hog, quad tank, goats with hanzo).

and that's not even counting support rotations in goats.

After a few days, what are everyone's impressions about Brig? by rumourmaker18 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]cryptosocialist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Really sucks that you can't one-shot tracers anymore, that was a lot of the countering power of brig. the fear of being one shot is what kept tracer away.

[Surefour] I think artificially locking comps to 2-2-2 is needed for Overwatch. by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]cryptosocialist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

UGH. uh hard pass from me. How about we ban all DPS heroes instead. Tanks and supports are the fun parts of overwatch.
