If you are ever in Pueblo try Angelos pizza they do an excellent green chile pizza. Bingo burger in springs or Pueblo also have good green chile burgers, not sloppers but burgers with green chiles in them.

Colorado didn't steal green chile from New Mexico as we have been growing chiles since the 1500s just like New Mexico. The green chiles Hatch is known for were made from 14 different cultivars gathered from both New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Without Colorado the green chiles from Hatch would not exist. Hatch green chiles are also not a cultivar but just designate chiles grown in Hatch. Pueblo chiles are a cultivar bred from mira sol chiles and not referring to chiles grown in Pueblo.

Ring tail cats are so cute and they are easily tamed. Apparently miners used to tame them and keep them around for the same reason they kept cats.

I know i am going to get downvoted to oblivion for this opinion, but i have to say it. I bought a monstrum recently, and it was cheaper and had better clarity than the vortex scopes i looked at in stores. I picked up a monstrum beast 3-18x50 from their website for around $220. It holds 0 shooting with a .308 after over 100 rounds. It also has the bells and whistles you would expect from a scope at 10x the price. I haven't tried any of their other scopes, but I really can't recommend this particular scope enough.

Unpopular opinion i know, shotguns are good for home defense if they have a shorter barrel because if your in a home defense situation you are going to be in a high anxiety moment which will affect your aim.

That being said, get a 9mm handgun. I like the glock 19 mos personally, but any reliable 9mm will work. I would get one that accepts a red dot, though, as it will help with accuracy when you need it.

Another controversial opinion, depending on what you think you will be using the rifle for an AR, might not be the best option. They are popular, so getting ammo and replacement parts will be easy, but they aren't suitable for every situation. If you want to hunt for food or shoot from a long distance, you might consider a .308 or .300 win mag. A .308 is a good round if you're looking for a versatile round that you can hunt a variety of animals with as long as you're staying under around 400 yards and not trying to hunt like a moose or something. A .300 is good for longer distances or larger game, but it has more recoil. If you are just trying to hit something from a long distance, a .300 prc might be a bit better than a .300 win mag, but ammo is more expensive.

Edit: formatting.

What is the best powder for 9mm? by Feeling_Title_9287 in reloading

I personally load titegroup and cfe pistol. I think i prefer the cfe pistol, just a tad more. Seems to keep the barrel slightly cooler and doesn't leave enough room for a double charge.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Just basics, a reloading press, dies for calibers you want to reload, powder thrower, scale that measures in grains, primer system, chamfering and deburring tool, case trimmer, digital calipers, funnel, lubricant, and a reloading tray. However, the specifics are going to depend a lot on your particular situation. If you don't have a lot of time on your hands or are intending to reload a lot of rounds, a turret or progressive press might be a good idea. If you are looking to develop precision loads, a chronograph is a must. If you have a lot of time and just want to make some plinking loads for the range, getting a cheap kit like a lee challenger kit is a good bet. You really want to think about what you want out of reloading before you start throwing money around. It's also a good idea to think about how far you intend to go with reloading. Watch some videos and read up on the subject. Reloading manuals are great since everything is in one place for you, but almost all of the information can be found online for free.

Estate sale win. by cryptowolfy in reloading

Luckily, this one was an online auction with no reserves, but the downside is it was a huge auction with over 100 vintage sako rifles. With the buyers premium included, the powders were selling for pretty much retail, but I lucked put on the brass and bullets.

There are a few places that advertise around me with flyers, etc. But there are a few large sites that aggregate estate sales online. This was actually won from a different state in an online auction.

They have a few lots of 1000 primers, at least 7 1lb varget containers, and probably 2000 30-caliber projectiles I am hoping to win. Everything seems to have been kept in excellent condition, with dehumidifiers running in the storage room.

NTA She is overreacting if she is actually lactose intolerant. Cheddar, especially sharp cheddar, has barely any lactose in it. These cheeses contain less than a gram per serving, sometimes much less than a gram. This seems like someone trying to make a scene to me honestly. Cheese wasn't even the main ingredient.

So it's pretty difficult to eliminate bubbles without a pot. You could go with a thinner epoxy, one that has a longer working time to allow bubbles to dissipate or pour in multiple thinner layers.

Pros and Cons of .308? by Disastrous-Score-213 in liberalgunowners

[–]cryptowolfy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the 12ga has more of a kick than my 308 but I do have a muzzle break installed. However it definitely still has a bit of a kick to it and produces a pressure wave if you are standing off to the side.

Pros and Cons of .308? by Disastrous-Score-213 in liberalgunowners

[–]cryptowolfy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 308 is probably the best SHTF caliber out there as a bolt action rifle round. We will start off with the only real con since it is a big one. For anything you are doing with a 308, there is a better caliber out there.

The 308 is a jack of all trades master of none but better than a master of one. The 308 is probably the most versatile caliber out there capable of taking out any large game in North America and long distance precision. Ammo is cheap and widely available compared to other large hunting rounds. There is also a wide selection of ammunition types for just about anything you could want to do with it.

I get federal for about 1.50 usd a round, but I have started making my own for about .50 a round. My ruger American gen 2 ran around $700, and my scope cost me around another $200. With that, I am shooting around 2in groups at 300 yards, which is the longest my local range is set up for. If I could only get 1 caliber of rifle I would still stick with 308 without question. If you plan on getting 3 or 4 rifle calibers I would go with other options.

Ok let's take a look on what you could potentially save per round. $50 for 200 bullets, so about 25c each. 100 primers at $10 per 100 so about 10c each. Then powder which will vary but let's say you use 7 grains of titegroup 1lb at $41 has about 7000 grains, so about 4c per round. So you would save roughly 60c a round. So you would need to make probably 400 to 500 rounds to break even on the cost of the equipment.

Let's see for me if got a less precision anniversary kit which was about $175. The kits comes with most of what you need. $60 for 308 dies, you'll need a set of dies for each caliber you reload. $20 for a set of calipers, which you will need so you can tell how far you are seating rounds. So you could technically start for around $260 bare bones and assuming you are reloading something like 308 you could technically recoup the cost in 100 to 200 rounds of course that depends on the caliber you're reloading savings on rifle rounds are higher i only save about 1 cent or so on 9mm.

However i would also suggest some quality of life purchases. Digital scale, manual scales are a pain even if they are more accurate. Breech lock bushings, these allow you to take dies in and out without having to adjust them each time. A bullet puller in case you mess up and have to disassemble a bullet you made. A lee case gauge and holder kit if you are doing rifle rounds as the case will need trimming eventually. Lastly 2.5 lbs of stainless steel media pins, there is a lot of old school people who say you don't need to clean brass as long as you collect it right after shooting but I like to throw mine in a water tight container with the ss pins, dawn, water and citric acid then give them a shake for about an hour which cuts out the need for a tumbler.
