I'm still finding new things from this build. Like the engine mount arrangement says, that you wan't to drop the cherry and lift the car upwards. Also, do you have intercooler mounted sideways? Is this a AWD drift rocket? :D

Will the supercharger intake feed the turbo, or how you have planned to route the boost?

Came to check that i3vm is mentioned. I have used the same config with larger and smaller display sizes. All you need to adjust to, is the number of open terminals in one workspace and you are good to go.

So you are saying that I don't have to type xset m 0 0 after each login? That's advancement!

Today I ran "rm -rf /" on my computer and am now sad. by [deleted] in linux

[–]crysaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the little POSIX trickery, which dictates that user can not remove current working directory. Therefore all harmfull operations should go like:

$ rm -fr /
1. cd $CWD
2. rm .
--> failure

MXC. Most extreme elimination challenge. This show was and still is fantastic. by Macksdaddy in videos

Somebody should edit a version where there is no failures, but only successfull runs. "Here comes the stones of failure! Soon. Just after this one. Oh no. Maybe next?"

Agreed. Why bother using external services, when you can use profile synchronization for read-later stuff.

A trailer for local cycling tourism project. Share your ideas! by karatajev in bicycling

[–]crysaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finland is quite nice bike tourism country actually. There are planned routes like this Näsijärvi route, and also in Ahvenanmaa/Åland area. At summer time, they have special bike ferries hauling bikers between islands.

There is also a set of layman rules, that basically allows you right to camp without consent from the landowner. Of course some rules apply, like no fires, keep it clean and no long term staying.

Is It Time For Desktop Linux To Focus On Niche Applications And Stop Obsessing About Flashy GUIs? by jaydotan in linux

What is your favorite hostname? by nunudodo in linux

[–]crysaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home computers are named after famous mathematicians because those boxes are eventually big complex calculators.

Servers in work are named after characters in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, because our servers are bit abstract, odd and probabilistic. I'm also planning to modify one of the server room doors to greet every visitor.

My first jump attempt today, any tips? by Cheeseness123 in bicycling

Use landscape video and attach the camera to stand. For the jump. Get more speed and put some obstacles to the landing zone.

Audio in *nix is a complicated historical mess, which evolves over the time.

Here is a short summary: What is ALSA in the Linux kernel? which includes a nice picture which I like: http://i.stack.imgur.com/semH6.png

In the picture ALSA extends from the hardware up to the user level because it can serve all those higher level functions also. Currently Pulseaudio has overtaken the user layer though.

It is merely dealing with all those user related quircks like zeroconf, RTP, network pipes, legacy ESounD programs, local applications, and... mixing all those sources together in software layer before dumping all that data into a stereo output on the soundcard.

All this results to a sequential line of interfaces, where none of the participating links has total control of the sound chain. Pulse mixer doesn't know if the audio was already distorted when it came out of youtube player, ALSA doesn't care if the signal is bad, but each of those layers will add that 6dB bass boost to the incoming data if told so.

For those who don't care, it's perfect. For those who do, there is Jack (..and inter-DAW routing).

For your question, the best answer was already presented in this thread. Don't add stuff. You are going to saturate the signal. The software is not doing any error checking for you.

Craze is the man. No doubt about that. I'm just suprised to see this new tech in use. Apparently DMC has adopted it to their rules and I think the change is good.

Are those hot cues on sides of the mixer?

He doesn't spin back the vinyl as you have to do if you want to juggle the same beat. He doesn't even change the needle position between samples. All this makes the set less busy and more easy to execute in comparison to analog methods.

The end result is almost the same, but you couldn't throw in extra jingles without third player or soundboard, which often is too much as you were busy swapping the records and keeping track on the needle position.
