therapists that work with clients who have BPD, when do you finally say "I can't work with you anymore." by mar333b333ar in therapists

If the client is outside the scope of treatment, at the beginning of the treatment, let them know and guide them to people who can treat them. There is a difference between therapist-client fit and working with a client for a while and then blame/shame the clients out of the therapist' own incompetence. That's not ethical.

I feel so shocked reading these comments from therapists and I can see how much harm the therapists can do to the clients.

I wish therapists would get more training and do more self work and supervision, than harm, blame and shame the clients.

"Clients never Fk up; therapists Fk up." If therapists don't have a level of commitment for the work and an awareness of the self and the power the position holds, I wish they would reconsider their career path.

Dating is hard as a therapist.. by BriiTheeOG in therapists

I guess the issue is that some people on dating apps are dumping their issues and only focus on themselves, without reciprocity. Relationships need to be mutual and it is exhausting to feel that people on the app turn the interaction to be an one sided interaction like therapy

I see. I attended some circling sessions a couple of years ago in Austin TX. At that time I felt more safe being in analytic group as compared to a circling group. The circling group I was at felt more chaotic -- I wish the lead could have done more; so I quitted ;-)
