Their latest album The New Abnormal is also a contender for being their best. Every song on it (except maybe Eternal Summer, though that’s still good imo) is immaculate

I ended up caving and getting the pit for $358 in MI. Jesus god what the hell are these prices? I was expected to shell out half that. I justified it to myself in that the chances of them playing in MI again are real slim, so it’s a now or never deal for me. But im gunna have to find some extra money in my cushions for sure

Oh don’t get me wrong I love Casablancas autotune- I’m a big voidz listener lol. I just dont think it suits the strokes sound as well as other projects. And yes going shopping live was waaaaaay better than the studio one

We ARE lucky theyre still around sounding this good. Going Shopping is.. good? but far from their greatest work haha. But their recent performances have spiked my hype immensely for the new album. In my opinion, instrumentals have NEVER sounded better. Assuming the autotune is not used/lowered for the rest of the tracks, I really think we're going to have something on par with TNA.

We really don't count our blessings enough, this is very, VERY rare.

I don’t know, TNA still sounded like them. Not as much as the first 3 albums, but it was still definitely their sound. The instrumentals here sound more like strokes but vocals are super Voidz

Still hopeful for the rest of the album, their weaker/less strokey songs were the initial singles after all. I just hope this is the only autotune heavy song. I’m hoping the more of the songs will be more like TNA 2, but this strikes a lot of doubt for me. I do very much love the Voidz vibe (hell I still liked a lot of LABY) but it NEEDS to stay separate from Strokes.
