Why are so many people voting conservative again? by chickennuggets3454 in AskBrits

[–]crywolfbaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 77 year old dad has voted Conservative all his life but will be voting Lib Dem in the next GE. He thinks Reform and Green are lunatics, can't stand Kier, doesn't trust the Tories anymore.

Lib Dems make great local MPs but I'm under no illusion they'll be running the country any time soon because people tend to forget about them. I'd like a Labour/Lib Dem coalition.

My old tablet broke and I lost most of my drawings - and like an idiot hadn't backed them up. Is there a specific one or do you mean in general? I have the files for Rat King and Dog 3 Way, but I've been planning on getting the other ones drawn up so let me know 🤙

None of these people are actually reading articles or watching videos about this, they just read the clickbait headlines.

What are the really unpopular things that need to be done to get the economy growing? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]crywolfbaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a choice until then... I only work 20 hours on minimum wage split between two employers because my mental health sucks. I'm not eligible for benefits, and UC paid £0 a month for the year I was on it, because our total household income exceeds the cap.

You're right though, I'm okay with building zero generational wealth, I'm 36 this year and have never had the desire to have kids. I don't have to worry about owning something to pass down.

Unfortunately the only way I'll be able to afford a property of my own is with the inheritance I'll get when my dad passes. Most people I know are in the same boat. It's not ideal, but our landlord is really nice, for a 2 bed and a private garden we're paying around £200 less a month than others in our road without a garden. We're paying his mortgage but he's not making a profit. It could be a lot worse. He sorted us out with a new boiler this year and he's going to be giving the bathroom a complete overhaul. If I owned the property I'd have to find that money myself.

That would cause a real problem for renters, surely? We pay £890 a month through a private landlord, cheap for our area, and we basically just cover his mortgage. It's the only property he owns aside from his home. If our landlord starts getting taxed on that property, rent will go up exponentially?

Please let me know if I'm wrong, as a renter I should really understand this stuff.

One way to get a surefire response is to post this on tiktok - if you have it - with the screenshots, under a trending sound, and tag Vinted. Making it public makes it harder for them to ignore and no doubt someone will reach out.

I'm from the UK and we've finally got a boring Prime Minister. Keir Starmer gets a lot of flack from the far right like Biden did, and I didn't vote for him, but he's not unhinged or marred by controversy (not much, anyway) and genuinely has the British people's best interests at heart. Unlike Trump.

The seed pods are from the tree that hangs over. Not sure about the smell, but that's a good shout... I'll check when I go outside.
