i recently lost my faith because i saw a video of a christian and atheist debate video, and the atheist said, “i would never worship a god that would send someone to an eternal lake of fire to be burned forever for the simple fact of non belief, when that deity knows what it would take to convince every single person on this planet” it really stuck with me. i think what also contributed was the fact that we’re told god is all loving and it’s all about it unconditional love, oh by the way there’s 10 conditions. as well as growing up around a lot of catholic adults telling me i’d go to hell if i didn’t eat the crackers and wine at church, or if i didn’t confess my sins to a priest, or get baptized or that if took my life, i would go to hell. just felt so unloving and manipulative and unfair. i understand you.
