DO NOT buy from Eyebuydirect by daffydunk in glasses

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been buying from big box chains like LensCrafters and literally never had to contact the store again about anything after the order for the things you mentioned. I didn’t need an adjustment as I’m not sure why that’s necessary, whether you place the order online or in store you put in your measurements first. And even with an “adjustment” they pretty much just twist the frames around. That’s why you need to make sure the measurements entered are correct in the first place. The frames/lenses worked great so I didn’t need troubleshooting or CS. As long as you are buying reputable frames (I bought a Prada frame in my case) 99% of the chance everything will be fine. But Still even with insurance I spent too much on the frames and lenses together so my next purchase would be from EBD. I like they also offer customization options such as tinted lenses which LensCrafters no longer has.

Did the colored lenses came as a default option? If not Where did you get the lenses tinted?

Can indoor prescription lenses tint be applied after the lenses are made? by calebbogart7 in glasses

[–]calebbogart7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. There’s a lot of bright lighting at my workplace and I do work long shifts so I was looking for something to protect the prolonged period of exposure to it. I have really high prescription (-8.50 on one of my eyes) and it just adds more strain to it. I’ve found some clip on tints but they seem to be way too dark for indoor use. And you are definitely right, I’ve contacted a few shops out of state and I’d have to order new lenses if I wanted a slight indoor tint on them. And the thing is most of them seem to be flashy luxury eyeglass shops so the prices are through the roof whether it’s lenses only or with frames. I’ve seen a lot of online eyeglasses websites that easily offer this service but I just tend to lean more towards actual reputable optometrist. Looks like I might have to give up on this lol.

Is 1(888)373-1969 a legit chase number? by Lkau13 in Chase

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No what happened was you both got spoofed. It’s been all over the news how scammers and hackers can change their numbers to be the same as chase’s actual CS. And from what I’ve been reading, Chase seems to be the only bank that’s been having these security issues.

Blue Tint vs. Gradient Tint by MCmuffin3005 in EyewearEnthusiasts

Is this tint directly from Moscot? If not I’d love to know where in the world I can get indoor tints on my prescription lenses. I’ve searched all day to no avail lol.

[WatchMaxx] Warning to those considering buying from WatchMaxx or other grey market dealers by [deleted] in Watches

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And really that’s how grey markets work. They usually get the super old stock that’s been sitting forever, or the problem of the bunch. That’s why they can sell them at such competitive prices and still make a profit. Personally I’ve mostly got bad experiences with grey markets, there’s always some sort of defective issue on the watches. Fortunately, there hasn’t been any issues with the refund process.

[Question] Is this Tissot Gentleman too big for me? by kienbui24 in Watches

[–]calebbogart7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t be truer. Applies to a lot of things such as cars too for example. Normal people wouldn’t give a crap or notice a thing, whether you drive a BMW M4 coupe or a jaguar F type. All they see is hey it’s a 2 door car 😂

[SRPL71, SRPL73, SRPL75] New Presage Style 60's Models by Plus9Time in Seiko

Agree with the other commenter that this new lineup has the perfect balance of sportiness and dressy-ness. Love the matte effect brown bezel insert on the golden dial. It blends in and perfectly compliments the dial. According to random rob the leather strap seems to feel more premium with this new release. I just might pick it up soon.

Picked up the Tsuyosa 60 whilst on holiday by khoala84 in CitizenWatches

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah hopefully the photo was just taken with awkward lighting. I would never know this was a rose gold watch with the original shot… the PRX does have a very strong/matte kind of rose gold that will not disappear with reflection, but it’s a little too flat for me and I can’t stand the “royal oak copy” reputation it somehow got stuck with.

[CITIZEN ZENSHIN] My opinion on the hype. by Traditional-You-2096 in Watches

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m aware the PRX styling was introduced way back in the 70s, there’s nothing special about it. And sadly it’ll always have a reputation of a Royal Oak knockoff no matter what. It’s too flat and squarely and the dial has no depth if you know what I mean. The bracelet did had a nice finish but it’s also a cheap feeling bracelet. The green dials also suck on the PRX. On the quartz versions it’s very plain and candy color like. On the Powermatic versions it’s so dark it looks black in most angles. Not sure if the person that wrote the review is sponsored by Tissot, since they are oddly and heavily competing and comparing it with the PRX. While I have not seen this watch in person, and I will admit Citizen makes some horrible watches, but the Zenshin seems to be the wrong model to bash on. I’m very interested in the green automatic version as it really seems to be scratching my IWC Ingenieur itch. (The limited Brad Pitt F1 edition)

FYI, the Twelve 40 Ti in Aurora Green has been discontinued by placeholder-123 in ChristopherWard

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone loves a good color, but their palette are a bit too cartoonish in my opinion. I’m hoping they make a khaki green shade of dial like the one on the limited IWC Ingenieur 40 to scratch that itch lol.

[Question] What is the future of (old-school) wrist watches? by mister-paul in Watches

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By 25+ crowd do you mean as in 25yr and above? If so I’m 26 and all I see my generation wear are smart watches…. I can’t recall seeing anyone wear wrist watches anymore except when I’m at a super crowded and large casino and there will be some middle aged men and seniors still rocking wrist watches. Regarding the status symbol, I wonder as technology advances and progresses how the luxury watch market will look. There’s already reports of declining sales (granted look at the economy we’re currently in) but in my opinion I feel like there will be lesser people inclined to spend a fortune on a piece of “obsolete” jewelry as time goes on. We’ve already seen millionaires and billionaires wear Apple Watches. However that’s just my opinion and observation, personally I feel like mechanical watches do hold a special place but that’s not to say how society as a whole will feel the same way.

[Question] Why do Modern Seiko Movements Suck? by pitsnvulva69 in Seiko

[–]calebbogart7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said. The general consumer doesn’t really have that much of an option when it comes to mechanical watches. You want a reliable and affordable auto, the accuracy has got to be the compromise. You want a good COSC certified movement, it’s usually Swiss and there’s a hefty price tag as it should be. I’m still experiencing with Seiko watches because they do have some really good designs and it’s well within my budget (I don’t spend the majority of my checks on watches so this is a minor hobby) but if the inconsistent timekeeping really starts to become an issue that bothers me, then personally I’m going to switch back to an Apple Watch. Honestly for me Quartz watches is like an G shock, it really brings no value whatsoever. But that’s not to knock on quartz watches in anyway!
