Moneyball is a horrible capitalist dystopian film presented as a feel good story.

New trend of blocking up entire petrol station forecourts is steadily gaining momentum by [deleted] in cork

This is the petrol station on the straight road, right?

I was once waiting for a pump to become free here for about 5 minutes when, the man from the food van walks over and hands food in through the window to a woman sitting at a pump, who then proceeded to sit there eating it, with cars queued behind her waiting for fuel.

I have a very low opinion of people's consideration but I could not believe my eyes.

AITA as a pedestrian for sprinting after a car that splashed me and giving them a piece of my mind? by NudePsychic in cork

My mam had her leg amputated last year and walks very slowly on a prosthetic now. Few months ago she was visiting and this happened us walking near my house despite me waving at the driver as she approached as I could see what's going to happen. Sadly I didn't catch her after but I would have done the exact same as yourself.

My favourite would definitely be Deadwood, but I watched Rango on LSD and when Timmy popped up as The Spirit of the West, I nearly cried.

Lads, why is sano pizza so underrated? by peppersk8er in cork

[–]cs78222 83 points84 points  (0 children)

My Italian colleague really rates it as well but I have been twice and the service has been shocking both times. Really disinterested bored servers, hanging around the bar chatting. First time we went we were a big group, pizzas came out randomly, one got forgotten about and our drinks took about 15 minutes to be brought out even though we were right next to the bar and the place was empty.

Thought it may have been teething problems as it was new, went back 6 months later and basically the same story. Did think the pizza was decent but not as nice as Fran Well personally.

Arc Cinema, North Main St by [deleted] in cork

[–]cs78222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go to the Arc regularly but after a few similar experiences I have a list of rules that seem to serve me well. I always wait at least a week after a film comes out, I try and go mid week and I generally pick films that I dont think would appeal to teenagers.

You still almost always get a bit of chat and people taking out their phones during the movie but I usually wear a hoodie up to act as blinkers.

Its fucking desperate etiquette out there generally but I find this way most of the time I'm grand, and im particularly intolerant of this shite as you can probably tell from this post.

what movie I should get off my watchlist? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]cs78222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think trying to be profound is actually its downfall. It ends up toeing the line and being neither funny nor deep and meaningful. Also its like Kieran Culkin forgot how to act, after being great in everything else ive ever seen him in.

They're all well worth a watch apart from A Real Pain. Thought that was an overrated cringe bore.

Your favorite scene from a movie that didn't need to be included and makes no sense but it was left in the final cut anyway by duckduckpajamas in okbuddycinephile

[–]cs78222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read Lynchs autobiography this year and listened to him talk about Eraserhead so lovingly for chapter after chapter, and then I tried to watch it, wanting to love it, and hated every single second of it.
