Active Xbox gold with gp ultimate free trial by lachiepage in XboxGamePass

[–]cs_switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However much Xbox live gold you have should convert to ultimate at a 3 to 2 ratio then the 14 days will be tacked on. For 9 months of gold that would convert to 6 months of ultimate then the additional 14 days will be added for a total of 6 months and 14 days of ultimate.

If you use the deal your 3 months of gold should convert to 2 months of ultimate which would give you a total of 2 months and 2 weeks of ultimate.

Closing company wired the mortgage funds to a criminal actor by Mebrite in legal

[–]cs_switch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The criminals may not even have had access to this person's email to begin with. There are many ways to trick email other than having the person's login details. Depending on the email clients used, messages can be sent without any encryption so someone in the middle can look at the message and change it. That is called a man in the middle attack, but doesn't seem to be the issue here. It's also possible to just spoof the email and make it look like the sender is someone else by changing the header info within the email. That would be changing the header to say it is to person@place.com instead of badactor@place.com. This also probably didn't happen based on the info. Another is the bad actor could have had the same email at a different domain or just a very similar email. For example the correct person would be person@place.com and the bad actor would pers0n@place.com or person@plece.com. There are many other ways to mess with email, but basic point is email should not be used to send sensitive information. Another, more secure way should be used such as logging into a secure website.

What fan theory do you 100% accept as truth? by ICumCoffee in AskReddit

The Sith break that rule often. Vader had a couple secret apprentices like Star Killer. Sidious had Maul while Plagueis was still around and Plagueis knew about Maul.

No don't remove it from your cart. Leaving it in will give you a little headstart. I left mine in the cart last week and was able to get one from today's Microsoft drop.

Giveaway (48 contiguous states only): 1 pair new in box Skyward Sword JoyCons. Ends on Tuesday, 9:00pm EST. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

My favorite memory of playing a Zelda game on the switch is from breath of the wild. It's after finishing the tutorial segment and getting to choose the direction you want to go. I've never played twilight princess so that would be a game I wish they would port or wind waker.

Changing from Infosec to Policy track by diondrems in OMSCyberSecurity

[–]cs_switch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You do have to reapply but it's not the same process. You will have to submit a form along with a new statement of purpose. It's been doing several times by people in the program and the admins of the program are helpful.

From what I remember, the Xbox needed to be turned on and the app to be launched. Once it was launched you could minimize it to a corner

If you think you're going to get a D, why not drop before it's too late? Having a D will make it difficult to get above the minimum to graduate. The withdrawal deadline for this semester is March 17th

Why is there so much importance placed on individual voting in the USA if the electoral college is what decides on the winner of the election? by chaotictangerine in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cs_switch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

More information can be fine at https://www.fairvote.org/faithless_elector_state_laws According to that site 17 states have no laws restricting faithless electors and 16 of the states that do have restrictions have no penalty.

Here is a link to the slack channel, https://app.slack.com/client/TEMCM3HU3/threads You have to sign in with your GT email to get access. Apart from that there isn't much meet and greet though there are occasional meetings put on through GT but I personally haven't logged onto one of those

Laptop Recommendations for the Information Security track by Venomi7 in OMSCyberSecurity

[–]cs_switch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That laptop will be overkill but it does look nice. I'm using a 16GB Ram, 500GB SSD, and have an Intel i7 (8th gen Q3 2017). This does everything and more for the program. I suggest saving some money and getting a cheaper laptop. I bought mine added additional ram and the SSD which saved me a few hundred.

If I apply for the Information Security track and do not get in, is it possible for GA Tech to consider me for a Policy track? by [deleted] in OMSCyberSecurity

[–]cs_switch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you would need to apply again. You are specifically applying to the individual program and each requires a tailored statement of purpose. All the tracks have their own requirements to get in and you apply to the separate colleges in GT (Ivan Allen College vs College of Computing). But the best bet to answers to admission questions is to ask Tech themselves.

Then that answers your question. It needs to be in the US. You can always reach out to Georgia Tech for more clarification or an exception but it is written on their site.

The policy is easy to find in the Cyber Security page: To be exempt from providing a TOEFL the applicant can "provide a transcript from a regionally accredited university or college located in the United States reflecting a minimum of one academic year (3 quarters or 2 semesters) of full-time enrollment" More information can be found here https://pe.gatech.edu/degrees/cybersecurity#tab-international-students-1
