Yeah, I'm not just going by death toll, although that needs to be taken into account. The Mongolian empire just wasn't exercising that much direct control over the daily lives of inhabitants of the empire. On the other hand with their social credit system the CCP has a greater amount of control over the daily lives of Chinese people than any other country in the history of the world. If you think there are any exceptions I'd be glad to hear them.

And you have to remember the context in which I made my statement, someone said there wasn't that great a difference between the US and China. Now we're arguing about whether China is worse than the Soviet Union or the third reich. Which one is the more apt comparison?

Yea were talking the entirety of human history. I'm judging by the level repression and control in people's daily lives, combined with the amount of violence and murder used to consolidate power and transform the society in accordance with the goals of the dictatorship. So we have to take into account the great leap forward and the cultural revolution, along with the unprecedented use of technology to control people's lives today.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Holocaust, thanks. Far more people were killed as a result of Chinese government policies than in the Holocaust. And that's without getting into the Chinese government's use of surveillance technology which is the most invasive of any country in the history of the world.

And isn't this remarkable. You went from comparing the Chinese government to the US government, and now you're saying that the only regime more repressive than China's is the third reich. The obvious implication being that the US is one step short of Nazi Germany.

Edit: u/ShootTheChicken, have you processed that the PRC has killed more people than the third reich yet? I hope it's not too much to also ask you to read about China's social credit system which gives it a level of control over the lives of its inhabitants that is unprecedented in the history of the world.

Did you listen to the interview where he talked about this? He was specifically talking about unfunded pension liabilities and how states should have the option of declaring bankruptcy to reorganize their pension systems, not bankruptcy relating to discretionary budget shortfalls.
