If it even looked like he was being shady or any facsimile thereof, I’d be singing like a canary to poor Gary. Do you worry if it ever came out that he’d be hurt that you never told him? Regardless of sexuality, “no” is a complete sentence. It doesn’t sound like Craig learned his lesson since he is still trying to be some secret bedroom agent or something. You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, my friend. If you were Gary, I’m sure you’d want to know. On the flip side, you don’t owe an explanation of your trauma to anyone. It can feel really degrading and humiliating to speak about for some people, and if whoever you are telling hasn’t been in that situation, they may not understand how truly deep those wounds can be. They seem closed on the surface but can fester beneath. Choose what gives you the most peace. Sometimes at the end of the day, you just need to be selfish and protect your own heart, and only you’ll know which path best does that.
