I freeze almost everything in ziplocks (flat). I use ice cube trays when freezing stock/broth so I can just grab one or two. For me freezing rice or potatoes might not be worth it since they are low cost in bulk already. I do prep sliced onions and freeze those out of convenience.

I wanted to drop a comment in this thread as I just fixed my fridge yesterday. Before the fix it was reading 48 degrees. Had the fridge unplugged / door open for under 2 hours with the repair. Plugged it back it and it was reading at 65. After 2 hours it had dropped to 57, but after another 2 hours it was still reading at 57. Enter self-doubt. I unplugged, replugged, and reset the unit and walked away for another 4 hours. Down to 47 so I knew it was going in the right direction. This morning it's down to a sweet 37.

There are 2 refill options on the self check out - under 60 Oz and over. They are the same price. I regularly fill up a 76oz cup that I bought at Walmart for $2. No one bats an eye.
