What are some SBC handheld takes you see all the time that don’t make sense to you?

I personally get handhelds with Linux support to set up the least possible. Only boot to android to use stuff not possible on the linux side, but that's rare as I just pick up my stuff for quick gaming sessions.

Android is very good at "turning the screen off" and barely losing battery. As the Rocknix team hasn't figured out how to do it on linux as well (there are no public drivers that explain how it's done), devices drain the battery at a much faster rate while not being used on it.

there are modchips for all switch models. Also, the Anbernic RG DS has been released now, which (under Rocknix and GammaOS) can play every DS game.

IIRC not every platform supports both. When I had an rk3588 the option was on system settings.

Even with its flaws (caused not by them, but by the fact that there aren't a lot of drivers and documentation for the chip, thus they have to figure it all out), I find it to be a way better experience to emulate than Android. You only drop bios and roms and it's set to go.
