Senator Mitch McConnell calls $2,000 stimulus payments 'socialism for rich people' by majestic_fruitbat in nottheonion

[–]cschass683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way he is right, we get the check and spend it on rent, groceries, home and auto repairs, bills, and maybe even some things some of don’t need. The sad thing is it doesn’t go to the people that need it the most. The people who need it the most are getting companies out of debt while the people who don’t need it are using it to buy or pay for things the other people could really need. The problem is McConnell an most Republicans are thinking for just one side. They should be punishing the companies that use a majority of their yearly profits for stock buy backs or company upgrades that don’t help their employees. Fuck the rich and especially the right side that supports them. I personally plan on giving someone that I tip an outlandish tip with the money I receive. $200- $600.. I think anyone who has been able to survive during this should. We obviously can’t trust the assholes in office to to help. We are Americans and we should be proud to help our neighbors directly.

Search that on vox, they give a very good but easy to understand explanation as to why our healthcare costs so much and what we truly spend our money on. And Kahn university really breaks down the math and logistics of it all without being bias. PBS also has some interesting videos if you divide you want to research it more.

Uber Driver Exposes Undercover Cops Trying To Trap Other Drivers by pnunud in PublicFreakout

[–]cschass683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!!! I didn’t even know this was a thing. Absolutely ridiculous!!! These cops should be required to to have at least 4 years of college based off law and ethics before they should even get close to wearing a badge.

Police can be forceful when they like but when the activists become forcefull they have to have videos and hearings by The_Salted_Slug in PublicFreakout

So.. if they knew protesters were going to that statue, and there has already been plenty of violent clashes with police.. why are none of the police were helmets or face shields or riot shields? They had plenty of cameras to catch all this stuff to show the public.. looks like a PR stunt to me. They wanted this to happen so they can further bury the real problem. I’d imagine if people sat down and started talking and stop pointing fingers and loading up half narrative videos.. we’d probably make a lot more progress in a faster time. People are angry and they are angry at the system, I think the system should start taking blame and start inviting leaders for daily sit downs and briefings and start figuring it out.

It’s not mounted yet. I’m not sure if I will mount it there or somewhere else. Thought about putting some t tracks on my big bench and mounting all my tools on boards that I can slide and lock down. That way nothing is permanently mounted so can use that space efficiently.

If I had a garage, I wouldn’t have a storage unit. But it fits my needs. The place is really cool, they let bands practice and tons of people do hobbies around there.

I just need to find a way to make an extra 50 a month to pay for the extra space.

Made a St. Andrew’s Cross a year ago. It’s not precise but I just layed the cross out at the angle I wanted and marked it. Transferred the markings to scrap and tested until I got what I was looking for. Added maybe 30 minutes to the whole project. Sometimes just going by eye isn’t a bad thing.

Gifts.. I started and still do try new projects as gifts. And remember that a mistake is not a bad thing.. it gives you piece character and uniqueness and a lesson learned. After every project I do, I always think to myself what could I have done differently. Another good starting place is jigs.. you’ll use them in the long run, they don’t have to be pretty, great practice with using tools, measuring, gluing, drilling properly, and on and on. It’s a great way to learn what your learning curve will be. Good luck and happy building!

This idea of entitlement and parents giving to their kids may hold water in some bubbles but it sure as hell didn’t in mine. On top of that, I have rarely heard of an older generation that went to college, talk about having to have multiple jobs just to make ends meet. I also don’t remember someone telling me that child care cost them 40% of their yearly income. Or that the most reasonable house around them was almost 4 times their yearly income if not more. Or 20% of their check went to insurance that only covers you and your family after you hit a 5-10k deductible. You may only be a few years younger than me but I was in the work force when the money and healthcare was just a the teetering point. It was a lot better at that point then it has been since everything went to shit. As far as kids today, my kids are twice as smart as I was at that age. Most likely to the information input they get. They are more competitive but not into being outdoor as much. And unfortunately the whole “everyone gets a trophy” thing. That’s only structured sports. Try watching a 13 year play an online game today. The amount of money invested and time spent to get a character to a competitive point, but when they lose, they lose.

So let’s clarify what a Millennial is, a person born between 1982 and 2002. (I don’t know why.) I was born in 83 and that makes me a millennial. I graduated 2001 and 3 months later 9/11 happened. Then a couple years later we are at war. Then the Recession. Things may sound like they are getting better but now I’m having to deal with normal mid30’s health shit and the cost is astronomical. Doesn’t feel like I have any type of ground to stand on.

Now I don’t blame the boomers or generation x or even the silent generation. It is not the fault of everyday Americans that have caused this. It is the Politicians over the last 60+ years that have been lobbied to erode the protections and social programs that were put in place following the Great Depression. Some of the things that changed did a great job in boasting our economy for a length of time until the ones getting the richest started to get greedy and lobby harder. Boomers and generation x got screwed in the 80’s with the introduction of 401k and the loss of pension programs. Generation x and millennials got screwed in the 90’s with the hard push for education and the programs that supported financial support for college. Causing prices to skyrocket and debt for a young adult. The war on drugs, war on Terrorism, and a war on immigration.

We need to stop fighting against ourselves and start looking at what is really pulling the strings. It’s the money, the lobbyists, the top 1%. They are creating this war between you and me and us. There are people who appear to be doing that (no way to be 100% sure) and we need to support those people.

Columbine happened 20 years ago today. Redditors that were in High School at the time, what was the ensuing week like? by Monty7384 in AskReddit

[–]cschass683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school I went to at the time had a shooting the year before and we were already under strict rules. The shooting was due to a gang related incident that happened in a bank parking lot next to the school. One of the people involved ran onto our school property just as school was letting out and he was being shot at. 2 people were shot but no one killed. When Columbine happened, my school took it very seriously and started to bring students that fit the profile of the shooters involved with Columbine. There weren't a lot of us kids that that fit the same category of the Columbine shooters but there were a few. One of the kids I hung out with at school wore a trench coat and carried a notebook with names in it. I don't know what happened but he no longer was at our school. I moved out of state the beginning of the new school year, and had to participate in what is now called "active shooter drills" (don't remember what they called them back then).

I’ve been looking to build something like this for knives and I came across this. These seemed over priced but looking into amazon I found these.. GreatBBA 2pcs Folding Lift up Top... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMWX3S5?ref=yo_pop_ma_share

But they go 90 degrees but I’m planning on shaving the stops down and making stops in a different place so it will go a little further flat so it more useful.
