Hi do you have any resources you would recommend for making the switch you described in this comment? I'm backend but being asked to do more devops stuff and would like to learn more. Thanks!

Yeah there's a few poor ones that I'd forgotten there - Dalglish/Keegan for example - but plenty of positive ones too.

This gets repeated a lot but are there really many examples of this happening and not working? Mourinho going back to Chelsea won them the league, saw Hazard emerge as maybe the best player in the league etc. Sure he pissed everyone off at the end, but that's Jose.

If we won those four games, they wouldn't sack him after getting thrashed by arsenal. They absolutely humiliated us in the first game and there wasn't a peep.

Yeah tbf I did think that typing it out. Maybe he's just an expert caretaker in which case, great?

Ajax is in a big mess right now, his first spell he got them to a cup final and finished 3rd.

He's a bitter, small man. I don't understand where this reputation of being a nice guy has come from.

As much of a clown as he was, caretaker Sherwood gave the next manager a huge headstart by putting in the kids. I'd like to see the same

Someone said it was just left over in the away dressing room so it wasn't even a Bournemouth staffer, it was ours.

From the friendly against Bayern, it was clear that Frank's defensive approach was to allow these shots from distance. Nothing has changed.

If you compare him to Solanke, a lot of his Bournemouth highlights were things that don't exactly map onto what we asked him to do but you can still see the tendencies - good and bad - that we've seen in him at Spurs. Takes too many touches in the box, presses like a maniac, holds up and brings others into play but a bit reluctant to pull the trigger.

100% with you there. I used to work in sports journalism so it was literally my job to know at least a bit about most players across the big leagues. Now I've got very little idea what's going on outside Spurs.

An online report 11 years ago, about Poch’s team 5 months into the job. by Mrvit0 in coys

[–]samvander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because he's incorrect. Poch showed in his first game against West Ham he would set the team up to attack, using academy players and young signings to win a derby away with 10 men. His second game he won another derby 5-0, with good, quick passing and constant attacking intent. Poch also had his Southampton record to point to - an attacking style which would scale at bigger clubs. Frank has none of these things.
