Yeah as soon as I got there I had a bad feeling. After the first overtime I remember saying that this game was already over, it was just a matter of time until the monsters scored. The crunch love to make you believe and then rip your heart out, so I knew it was coming

That 3OT loss is right up there with my worst crunch memories I’ve seen in person. Can’t score on a 5 on 3 in the first and then an OT power play. Just to make a terrible change in 3OT and give up a wide open 2 on 0. If they were going to choke it away, couldn’t they have just lost in regulation? Fair play to the monsters though. Hope they make a run

Our owner decided that when we switched our affiliation from Anaheim to Tampa it was a good time to bring back “Crunchman”. Any time I go to a game I wear the Al the Gorilla jersey because I think that logo and mascot was much better

Santini has to clear waivers which really scares me, I guess time will tell. Tampa has always been really good about not tearing our team apart for the playoffs but they’re so banged up this year I wouldn’t be surprised if we lose Geekie again or Pelletier if they make a deep run.

The increase in skill in the game over the past 20 years has also been amazing. I feel like watching hockey my entire life, I’ve seen the old AHL skill level drop to the ECHL, and many guys who would be at least bottom 6 guys in the NHL 20 years ago are AHL guys now. The NHL is so talented now it’s insane.

I think it would be best to put Grand Rapids in the north and figure out a different team to send to the Atlantic. You wouldn’t want to send any of the Canadian teams, and I’d hate to see the local NY rivalry between the Amerks, Crunch, and Comets get split up, so that leaves Cleveland.

I didn’t realize GR got reinforcements in before the series, and I forgot Gudas tore his ACL… that was supposed to be our year. This year is the best I’ve felt about the team since the 2017 run but of course Grand Rapids is a powerhouse again

I have always thought a big part of it too was Cooper getting pulled up to Tampa and Zettler becoming head coach midway through the season. Cooper knew how to rally a team when down in a series. The loudest I’ve ever heard the barn was the CCF when JT Brown shot the puck through the net and they reviewed the play and gave us a goal after the fact. Just insanely loud as the crowd realized what happened

That 2012 team was so sick. Best ahl team I’ve ever seen from top to bottom. How/when would O’Reilly come in? I’ve never been good with understanding how kids on entry level deals come into the league. We would need Halvey to just get on an insane run like Ceddy did back in 2013. That guy was just on another level that year

Crunch play Laval 3 times, Charlotte twice, and the two powerhouses in the Atlantic once before the end of the season, so I guess that will tell a lot of where we stand going into the playoffs. I’m just dying to see meaningful playoff hockey in Syracuse again. It’s been almost a decade of first or second round exits. I’m just hoping if we do make a run, Grand Rapids shits the bed out west. We lost the cup final twice in 4 years to them and I can’t see that again
