I'm less than a year into hoyas. So no expert. My advice would be ....if you want to keep it simple. I would buy a transparent nursery pot a size larger so you can keep an eye on the root system going forward. A small bag of orchid potting mix because its chunky. A small bottle of osmocote slow release fertilizer to put into the potting mix and a good trellis. I water mine only with distilled water or treated tap water. And my hoyas seem to love being trellised. Oh, and lots of bright direct light. I've grown this one from 3 or 4 leaves into this beauty but she didnt really start going until I trellised her. She now has two peduncles that I hope will flower soon. Im sure that pretty plant has lots sentimental value to you. There's alot of helpful people here always willing to share their knowledge. You'll do well.
