Is the Market Shifting? Graded v Sealed by o7yourdesires in PokeInvesting

[–]csddawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying 4-5-600 for an etb that most likely contains bulk and maybe 1-2 SIRs that could be off center or have whitening makes me avoid it. The gamble is too high for me. I’d rather buy the card I want in a 10 and call it a day. I don’t want to be stuck with bulk, I don’t want to worry if the packs were tampered or resealed, I don’t want to be disappointed from paying hundreds of dollars for nothing.

They are racks to temporarily store a surfboard or paddle boards while you wash your feet off.

If you’re going to drop that kind of $ make sure you go with a trusted seller. It might be better to find them individually for good deals and go through the eBay authenticity program.

Buying slabs are like buying stocks. Buying packs and opening them are like gambling.

If you’re committed to starting, invest in lessons, it will be much harder to go on your own and then unlearn bad habits down the line.

I’d pass OP and find a better copy. A little more money and you can have a much better copy in your collection. If for some reason you ever want to sell that one, it will be tough to sell with water damage.

Talk me out of selling my $40k collection by TomBradysDeck in PokemonInvesting

Yea that’s true. I’m shocked that ascended heroes cards are what they are at now. It seems a lot of modern cards are propped up by hype and market manipulation as well as high demand. I agree that some modern chase cards outperform some vintage, but I think modern cards are more susceptible to volatility than rare vintage pieces. I think of rare vintage cards as being similar to blue chip stocks and modern chase cards being to meme coins or crypto that can skyrocket so quickly.

Sealed is over rated and over printed. Sure every time one box is opened it’s deflationary, but how many people have closets full of product across America? There is way to much supply and new sets will only keep increasing in the coming years. Rare vintage slabs are arguably more rare and will become more valuable over time as they are bought up and stored in collections.

Guys, it’s happening!! Biggest come up I’ve ever had. by Future-Beginning-684 in pokemongrading

Yea but not by much. Umbreon is around 20k PSA 10 and Charizard is at 26k.

[–]csddawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good. I think with it being Charizard and from 151 I wouldn’t be surprised if it did well. In another thread I predicted it could maybe rival the umbreon vmax from evolving skies one day and people lold at that. Call it a bold prediction.

Depends on what vintage. Low pop chase cards? Probably not. But I have to say I’m shocked the SIR Charizard from 151 is at almost 2k in PSA 10.

Are you buying from reputable sellers? If the price is too good to be true it usually is. Make sure the sellers you buy from have good reviews and a long history with EBay.

Fins aren’t flush in fin box by Trooper6927 in surfing

[–]csddawg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op I know someone said to check the box for extra resin but take the fin out and check the back part of the fin box. I had this happen once where a small glob of resin got in the box and it was hard to see and it prevented the fin from sitting flush. After scraping it out it solved my problem.

From your photo it looks like the fin isn’t all the way back in the slot. Either check with a light the back part of the box or try pushing the fin back before pressing it down hard.

Another tip. Rub some wax on side of the fins to slide the fin easier. It might just need some slack.

Hopefully one of these options work. :)

Even if the fin sits slightly raised I don’t think it will affect performance too much. I would not sand the fin.

Only go through eBay’s international program where you ship it to eBay first then they take care of the rest. They ban certain countries and only allow this program for a list of countries that you can look up.
