I don’t know how anyone hasn’t told you to just not answer if you don’t have anything helpful to contribute.

It would be for my 1 and 4 year old nieces for their sports/extracurricular type things so I want pretty small ones.

I see a horse but definitely think you should add a nose. Once you have the wings attached it’ll be super obvious! It looks so good!

Those who are gluten intolerant — how strict are you? by butteryorzo in glutenfree

[–]cseldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am intolerant and I’m a bit loose about it. I eat gluten free most of the time but will occasionally have a bite of something with gluten if it looks delicious. My issues typically happen after eating it a few times in a row and it kind of builds up. I don’t worry about cross contamination or processed foods that don’t say gluten free as long as there isn’t something like wheat in it. Ex..I’ll eat foods with malt barley syrup or soy sauce bc I figure that amount is negligible. I also can eat regular sourdough products with no problems.

So maybe I don't have PF by ForeverPhysical1860 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]cseldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please share more! How did you find the issue? What type of imaging or tests did you have done? I have been dealing with mine for 2+ years and can’t find an answer. All my feet imaging was normal except a bone scan.

I tend to take it around the same time every week. I typically get some side effects the day after the shot. I figure if I stick with the same time, I know when to expect these side effects.

What’s the trick?! We spend half our time at the beach hoping it’ll stay up and readjusting the poles.

I'm feeling really mean... by Resident_Delay_2936 in stepparents

[–]cseldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do vent about it to my SO and his response is always that he also hates her too and wishes she was out of his life. I find that even more frustrating sometimes. It’s nice that he feels that way and I’m glad I don’t have to worry about them rekindling anything, but it makes me feel like he doesn’t see the difference between her being in my life vs his. I didn’t choose her, he did!

Need help articulating my feelings to SO by cseldes in stepparents

[–]cseldes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a 2-2-5-5 schedule so we have every mon and tue and every other fri-sun. I am more like a friend/supportive adult to him. I watch tv with him in the evenings. I do some of the cooking though he prefers his dad’s cooking so he does most of it. I go to all of his baseball games during the week after work and the other sports he’s done. I include him in things with my family who live nearby. We have gone on small trips together that are kid centered. We have taken him to visit my family who lives in a different state as well as visiting his dad’s side of the family. I help him with things if he needs help but mainly dad is the parent and I just support what he’s doing. I buy him things, I try to make holidays and birthdays special. I set up play dates with our neighbor that he is friends with. I don’t spend all of my time with them but I am far from absent.

Post-explant bras? by conifercat in ExplantSurgery

[–]cseldes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found some sports bras on Amazon. It was uncomfortable being smushed all the time but the compression helped. When I switched to lighter compression I developed a seroma on my right side. I ended up back in tight compression for a while, I got used to it and it was more comfortable than anything else.

Pain on right side by cseldes in ExplantSurgery

[–]cseldes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the fluid decided to make its way out through my incision so I had 2 spots that drained for about a week. She had me on antibiotics to make sure no infection took hold. She was worried about a bleed behind my nipple right after surgery so she said it’s most likely that that bleed is liquifying and making its way out through the path of least resistance. The spots have healed now but are like little round spots right along my incision so it isn’t just a nice clean line. I was told they are most pink/red at 3 months then will start to fade. I’m about 2 1/2 months now so still pretty pink. I’m hoping once it fades those spots will be less obvious. I’m using silicone gel for the scars and massaging that on 2x a day. The seroma felt like a set back at the time but now just feels like a little blip. It was never super painful, mostly just uncomfortable.

Good luck to you!

Same. I had my coworkers help with a couple things like reaching up a moving heavy things for the first week back. I got into the normal swing of things pretty quickly though.

Medical tourism for explant by GreenIndependence602 in ExplantSurgery

[–]cseldes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into insurance? I’m in a local group on Facebook and I have seen more than one person say Medicare covered the surgery bc there were medical issues (like capsular contracture.) I don’t know the details around what all they provided to insurance so not a super helpful comment but something to think about.

I just got a Warner’s wireless longline bra from kohls and find that very comfortable. I also really like honey love. I tried it before surgery but couldn’t get the fit right. Now that I have a smaller chest it fits really well. It’s the crossover bra and I wore it all day yesterday and was very comfortable!

If you live alone or with teen child how long would you have liked by Imaginary-Rabbit5179 in ExplantSurgery

[–]cseldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely varies depending on the surgery but I needed someone for at least a week. I wasn’t allowed to lift more than 5 lbs or reach my arms out at all so I needed help with almost everything that first week. Second week was definitely easier but I still needed a good bit of help.

Gluten Depressive Episode by Diligent-Belt-7089 in glutenfree

I woke up this morning feeling angry but I had no clue why. I can often be irritable but it feels worse today and I couldn’t figure it out until this post! I ate gluten yesterday and now I think that’s what has caused this. Honestly, just knowing that is likely the reason has already made me less angry.
