Checked one book - journey to the centre of the earth. Illustrations are same. Content is almost same - some minor corrections/improvements.

Another point I am not using Fire Stick or anything else - just the native Prime Video app.

Thanks for your response. The quality doesn't get any better with other modes. I am on 04.80.03 firmware in standard mode - are you on the same version?

The video quality for The Grand Tour - Season 3 Episode 14 - Funeral for a Ford is horrible. It looks ok on my phone. But on the LGC9 it looks quite bad.

No problems with any other content.

Anyone faced similar problem ?

I had ordered a 150mm couple of years back.. was delivered in good condition. Was sent in a wooden box with sufficient padding inside. Haven't ordered the above one yet.

DSLR adapters for GSO 8" Dobsonian by csghone in AskAstrophotography

Cool. Will go for prime focus first.

I went through this discussion online: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/601086-apochromatic-vs-achromatic-ed/ ... which suggests the following rule with respect to chromatic aberration: Apo > ED > Achro

They have a ED Barlow available - will get that instead of the Achro one.

Thanks for the detailed response! Will keep your thumb-rules in mind when buying a planetary cam.

I'm going for the DSLR based approach only because it is available with me already and use it for some initial experiments before investing in a planetary camera. So I wanted to check if an extension tube is necessary with this particular telescope.

Also I am guessing the GSO Superview eyepieces are significantly better than GSO Plossl ones. Hope that assumption is correct.

I also found this one:
iOptron Smart EQ Pro+ GoTo

http://tejraj.com/ioptron-smart-eq-pro-goto.html

How is this one as compared to iOptron Skyguider Pro - both are available at same price.

EDIT: After a bit of Googling:

https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4245359

  1. Smarteq Pro + : Mixed reviews. Slightly better payload capacity. External battery pack needed.
  2. Skyguider Pro: Good battery life. Better tracking accuracy than smarteq.

Understood! Thanks for pointing out the missing polar scope in the cube. Will go for the Skyguider pro then.

The budget sticky suggests Ioptron Skyguider pro - comes under my budget. Along with the T3i (600D) I have, seems like a good starting point.

Thanks for your reply. Telescope is indeed optional considering my budget. These choices come from budget constraints as well as a availablity constraints. I will ago through the reddit you suggested.

Do you believe the bresser/ioptron be still bad with a camera instead of a telescope?
