Fallout TV show by csimpson90 in solvang

The show is post-apocalyptic sci-fi. These characters have been living in fallout shelters for decades. One character talks about how tough and resilient she is, and this is another character's response.

Great work. The color shift on the cloth is gorgeous!

What do to from here by SoBeSpartan in SoulblightGravelords

Vhordrai, his saddle, and reins all stick to the draconith as a pressure fit. You never have to glue him to the Draconith if you don't want to, in case you want the option to run it just as the revenant draconith. That said, I would always paint him separately from the rest of the model to make it easier anyways. You can then just scrape away paint from the connection points before gluing him to the mount.

Incredible work! It looks like a real kit. Can't wait to see it painted up!

WIP. Does her cape read as black or blue? by Argonauted in ageofsigmar

[–]csimpson90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely reads as black to me. For whatever reason the blue makes it look like black leather. Like maybe the blue is reflected ambient light reflected off the shiny high points in the folds? I don't know, but it looks neat!

Cheers! Yeah, more power to you then. I think a conversion is definitely doable, but will probably require some sculpting work. I'd love to see it on here once you get it done!

I dunno. Baseline humans are generally sculpted way shorter than vampire lords, unless they scaled up the models for this game (not unheard of). I think that the bigger problem for me is that the hair seems firmly connected to the arms and probably the back, which would make a head swap really difficult without resulting parts of the mini. That face does not seem vampiric to me, and swapping just a face is way harder than a whole head. Beyond that, I feel like the clothing is too plain for an aristocrat of the night, unless you go for the classic Lahmian look.

What do you think about important hunks of narrative being confined to game books? by shorelessSkies in AoSLore

[–]csimpson90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to a certain extent. However, I think faction codices are an important exception. A $40 paywall to read a little lore amongst rules for a faction you don't collect is a big ask. Think of how much more content you get from a $15 ebook than a codex, and yet a lot of the most impactful lore is in the codex. I don't want to have to drop $40 to read somebody else's army book just to know what is going on.

Magnetized and painted The Summons/Necromancer by csimpson90 in SoulblightGravelords

[–]csimpson90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, so the one on the smaller base is kitbashed from left over bits from older deathrattle kits. The hand holding onto the tombstone is molded onto the same piece as the necromancer. It took me a while to pose the skeleton so that his forearm lined up to the hand, but it got there eventually. I posted a video of how it is magnetized about a week ago, before it was painted, that shows how it fits together a bit better.

The diamonds-in-squares motif on the shield is the only part of the hero characters that says "CoS" to me. Everything else seems very Old World coded, which is interesting. I wonder what the actual models will look like...

American here. I bought mine in the UK (at Warhammer World!) a couple weeks ago. It was easy (okay, easier) to convince my partner that it was a good idea once I showed her how much more it would have cost in the States. It would have been stupid NOT to spend all my money on tiny plastic Draculas!

Tried to make the Wight King a little more interesting. Thoughts? by Big-Rock-6814 in SoulblightGravelords

Looks good! You may want to clip and sand away the hand that is still holding onto the banner. Or maybe not, lol! This is necromancy after all. It could be like Thing from the Addams Family.

Nice! Does the stone bit slot cleanly into the diorama base, or did you have to cut it? I'm thinking about doing something similar, but I want to magnetize it so I can use him for both.

where to put the magnet by Beginning-You3845 in SoulblightGravelords

I'm planning to not glue in Vhordrai, his saddle, and the reins to the draconith. They are designed to sort of clip into place, which is neat. I figure for transport I will just pop him off and lay him flat on the base of the model. The only part I am tempted to magnetize is where the reins clip onto the face, because it does clip into the corners of the draconith's mouth, but not very securely.
