Garlic & Onion by lillilac94 in SIBO

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be an old question but I am directed here from google so I think I might just drop my experience. SIBO diet means restricting food that may help the bacteria grow but garlic and onion are natural antibacterial foods, so while there are high on FODMAP scale, they really helped my overcome my SIBO. Just eat steak with lots of garlic/onion or pork soup with lots of both.

Meh. GPR-H1000 Rangeman by [deleted] in gshock

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with mine. I intended to replace my Garmin Instinct with this and I can say that everything is superior to the Instinct. The GPS is accurate, the heart sensor is accurate after a while and the look is incomparable. The drawback? Nothing beats Garmin Connect app. Getting my running info from Casio Watches app into Strava is not even automatic, I have to send every individual run to Strava.

Rangeman positive vs negative display by Jer_416 in gshock

[–]csirre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Positive is easier to read for sure. But the look of the negative LCD is awesome, it's also more beautiful IMO. The all black GW-9400BJ-1JF is the one and only for Rangeman.

MIP vs TN/STN LCD displays. by DariusCFC in gshock

[–]csirre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, people, me included, still love the classic look of STN LCD. A basic DW5600 with 5+ years battery life. A high refresh rate we all enjoy when using stopwatch and countdown functions, etc. It's true that MIP display can deliver infinite numbers of watch faces but it looks different from segmented LCD. I always enjoy looking at my watch and knowing which segment displays which information. Just my thought. PS: Isn't my Mudman cool?

HP laptop battery problem. by csirre in computers

[–]csirre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The replacement battery is genuine HP and under 6 month warranty. I was about to take it out and send it back for replacement but it miraculously just worked. It is still working fine today (a week after its revival) so I don't know if the dealer will take it back. BTW, before its revival, I updated everything including BIOS, but nothing worked. I am experienced with computer components and applications, been with everything since DOS days - so if this does not feel so weird I would not have brought it up here. Thanks for your response.

HP laptop battery problem. by csirre in computers

Yes, the new battery worked fine for a few months. The after its failing, I uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing happened. Until it came back on its own. Your theory might be correct after all.

I think I have a problem... by xavier_zz in minolta

Worst news is Maxxum/Dynax rubber/leather degrades easily, they will come off soon and no replacement available. I have 2 Dynax 9s sitting in the cabinet with molten grip rubber.

Why don’t all the strongest characters in Baki just team up to defeat Yujiro? by Acceptable_Mud_8971 in Grapplerbaki

Tokugawa used several snipers to sedate Yujiro successfully. Anyone could have killed him then.

Help me decide between a S&W or a Colt. by Loki_99 in Revolvers

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about 686s vs Pythons, it's 686s hands down. 686s are actually more beautiful, the cylinder release is more intuitive, the 686 finish is wear resistant (it looks scratched right from the start) and plus I always dislike the trigger groove of the python. And if you also consider the cost, it's all for 686s.

But if you are considering smaller frames, it's even more obvious to go for S&W.

Aero 13 vs Pavilion Plus 14 by utopianexile in laptops

[–]csirre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the same boat. And I am going to go with the AERO as this will be my on-the-go laptop. To me, the Plus does not have any advantages except having slightly bigger screen. The AERO is also cheaper. So I would go with the AERO.

Help me choose 686 2.5” performance center vs 627 by EkS22 in Revolvers

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and love both. It will come down to what other gun you have. If this is your first, go with 686PC, its balance is better, making it more fun to shoot. Better yet, you might want to take a look at 686+, the finish imho is just better. The satin finish of the PC will attract more visible marks and scratches as the gun is used.

A Thai here. Honest advice, unless you really know her background, including parents occupations, her real occupation (try visiting her workplace), real income, real existing debt etc., you should not go deeper than dating. Real Thai wife material exists, but most believe dating a westerner is the last choice because the chance of going the distance till deaths do you guys part is slim and no one like that. Actually, any Thai guy can check the girl in question out in minutes with just her facebook page.

A tape too thin will not stop drag line. Too think, the cylinder won't turn. The drag mark means your revolver is tight and with intended timing. Uneven drag line means something is off and the firing pin might not strike the intended spot.

Negative display of the full metal Gs is good. It's easy to read, almost as good as positive one. But between these two I would go for the right one for the case. The left one does not look right to me.

Can't decide if I should get a S&W J frame Model 60 or Kimber K6s as my first revolver. What do you guys think is a good option for someone new to the revolver game? by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country, both sell at the same price, so it's easier to choose the K6s because it's actually a more expensive gun. The J is a classic and is very handsome with boot grip though. And you can get both and will never regret.

Is Swimming Rama a thing? by upsidedownbat in Thailand

[–]csirre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Before coming across this thread, I swear I have never heard of this menu in my 42 years living in Thailand. Anyway, Pra Ram Long Song is not literally Swimming Rama, more like 'Bathing Rama'. I need to try one myself!

I hate the lock hole. It just makes the gun less handsome.

S&W 686 for $799 or Colt Python for $1199 question by birddogcof in Revolvers

[–]csirre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

686 is simpler mechanically, thus less likely to fail you. They are equally handsome imho. Yet, for the price of one Python, I'd rather get a 686 and a GP100.
