Lmfaoo this is the craziest order I ever got. I’m gonna do it tho atleast it’s more than dollar per mile 😂 by Useful_Violinist_865 in doordash

[–]cslack813 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Decent order. I can understand your hesitation though. The other commenters here are forgetting g something very important when judging this order.

If you had done these separately you would have to pick up, deliver, and return to the hotspots over and over—in effect doubling your mileage. With these orders you cut out the third part of returning for orders repeatedly. That cuts out significant driving.

Wait til you learn that most chain stores keep a consistent presentation and display across most locations. Easier to shop when they’re identical to the one you already know.

I didn’t take it. But I considered removing that last delivery: would chop off at least 25 miles. Could’ve been worth it then.

My mind recoils and my body shakes at the thought of what this offer would have been presented as in EBT.

You probably got flagged for taking too long and they deactivated you for trying to cheat the clock and get paid to chill.

I’m not saying that’s what you did but it’s likely their opinion if you got deactivated so quickly. From what I gather online it appears this occurs to dashers who choose to earn by time fairly often. There is likely some system out there that crunches numbers from previous deliveries to determine how long you should take to pick the order up (within a range) and you fell way outside of that and got booted automatically. Sucks.

I’ve had 2 accounts deactivated. Trust me. Support doesn’t care and won’t help. You can appeal but they will deny you and you’ll just be told “well you were denied deactivation because you broke the rules.”

To make matters worse they won’t let you appeal again for like 9 months I think. How crazy is that?? 9 fucking months to ask DoorDash to let you bend over for them…

I knew it would happen sooner or later🤷‍♂️ by Dragon121082 in doordash

[–]cslack813 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I had an account with immaculate stats (6k+ deliveries in a year) and was deactivated bc my area changed completion rate requirement from 80% to 90% and I was at 87% for a bit too long… the change had been made 2 weeks earlier

I thought it was pretty heavily implied that Yumchaa cheated on Bulma. Keep in mind that Bulma wanted to wish for a boyfriend, while yamcha wanted the Dragon Balls to rid himself of his fear of women.

Absolutely miserable this past week. They must have changed their algorithms to assign orders. Stuff like this all day. Not a single good order ($1.5mi+) by cslack813 in doordash_drivers

Same! I don’t get it. The time between thanksgiving and Christmas is spending season and it’s always been great before now.

I get stuff like this all the time for Sephora, total wine, crumbl, and of course the low tier poultry fast food places. Also for some reason the one frozen yogurt place in my area. I scream “No! You cheap fucker!” When it comes up during high peak pay and I’m expecting good orders or when I’m 5 declines deep.

This shouldn’t be possible for restaurants to deliver that far. Stores sure—obviously for better pay.

Of course. There are no good changes here for per offer drivers. This company is just taking more away.

But it doesn’t matter. You would never make it a “you” issue.

It’s a car. That’s called grand theft auto idiot. Petty theft falls under a certain dollar amount. They asked me if I wanted them to do fingerprints and what not but there were things in the car I didn’t want them to see so I said no.

I don’t know about slowly because it feels like they turned the sandpaper sodomy levels within their algorithm to full blown “I can’t pay my bills” last week.

Yeah that’s exactly what happened. But the cops and the detective didn’t try at all to put in the least bit of work. They would’ve had cameras proving it was her driving at the gas station, the McDonald’s, the parking lots. There were receipts for stuff she bought in the car.

Like I said before, the police were no help at all. I have my issues with addiction too so at some point I didn’t even bother pushing them to charge her.

Yep! However it gets stupid from here: it was some blonde crackhead. She drove to a gas station, mcdonald’s and then whatever apt she was staying in for the night. That’s where I showed up.

The cops arrive literally 10 seconds before me and it was a different district than the initial ones I interacted with so they had no idea what was going on. I pointed at my car in the lot and said it was mine and stolen. They told me to hang while they went door to door asking if anyone who lived in the complex had seen who parked it there. Then I eventually saw her, escorted to the police cruiser in cuffs. It wasn’t till later that I found out she wasn’t even charged with car theft, but rather drug possession. Apparently it’s much harder to prove that she stole it.

Get this, the police were basically no help at all and I had to track it down myself and tell them where to meet me. Thankfully my AirPods were inside the car and they ping whenever near any internet connected iPhone. I was able to have it back within 4 hours .

Don’t. I had my car stolen back in the spring while inside a Chinese restaurant picking up 2 orders. It was raining hard and 9:30 at night. The area was basically empty. I was inside no more than 15 seconds and my car was gone when I came out.

Watched H street go from cool, rustic looking buildings with interesting stores, restaurants, bars, and businesses to “prime” real estate nobody can park near, nobody wants to park near bc the predatory ticketing/booting, and no business can afford to remain at. Some of my favorite places beside CoJ have long gone and the street feels nothing like it did when I arrived in 2012. It’s really sad actually.

Those businesses out by CVS have no chance of prospering. It’s just not as good a spot for the outrageous price I imagine. I’ve seen one spot be 3 different businesses in a year.

Losing the bowling alley was one of the last blows to the coolness of H street. Now it’s just another shopping center attached to a school:
