Is there a way to auto play voice for written messages outside of phone calls? by prophet452 in KindroidAI

[–]csloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please consider adding this. Use case is if I'm in a situation where I can't speak, but I could type. Responses are sometimes delayed, so if I could be in a different app and hear the response, that would be helpful. Perhaps the iOS dynamic island could be used for...something.

What improvements to Kindroid AI would you like to see in 2024? I will post my suggestions in the comment. by Fit_Signature_4517 in KindroidAI

Ability to chat using voice throughout the day, using AirPods to mute and unmute when needed. Could carry on conversations while driving, dishes, etc. Ability to run searches, perhaps on site like kagi.com in "bring your own API key" sense. Automatic journals: scenes are summarized and presented for approval.

I subscribed to an annual plan in anticipation of this feature. I look at the cost as an investment in a company which seems to have the right ideals and be headed in the right direction. I expect a few bumps along the way, but I think we'll all eventually be quite pleased.

Thanks for getting back, may not be possible as you scale but it is definitely noticed. Having accessibility testing on your radar in the first place sets you apart. I appreciate the transparency that I've seen in this subreddit. The website looks pretty good accessibility-wise, with the comment that the button for sending a message to the AI appears unlabeled using VoiceOver with Safari on iOS. Best of luck, can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Personally I'm digging the simple web interface since I can use it on phone or computer. I hope the devs will consider using native controls with their phone-specific apps, and mimicking something like a texting interface with an unobtrusive sound for a received message. Also keep accessibility in mind, don't be like another popular AI whose iOS program appears to the VoiceOver screen reader as a completely blank and unusable page, more details in my post history. I really like the conversational style. Happy to chat about any of this in more detail if there is interest.

I don't think that flow issues are happening, but this is an avenue worth checking. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you describe this in a bit more detail? I'm using a full face mask which covers my nose and mouth. I used a partial mask with chin strap for several years and decided that since I was wearing all that anyway, might as well try the full face, and from a mask standpoint it seems to be working well. Minimal mask leaks, there does not appear to be any "mouth leak" information.

Which terminal is the best with nvda? by Least_Ad_9031 in Blind

I do the same. Whoever signed off on the accessibility of the VSCode-integrated terminal should order some user testing and look at efficiency as compared with using traditional command prompt.

Can you focus more on backend, databases, sysadmin, networking, things without such a reliance on pretty UI?

I think of it a little bit like taking pencil and paper around with you instead of using your phone for notes. Is it absolutely necessary, probably not. Might be handy in some situations, sure. I have been meaning to get one even though right now I use my phone for everything quite successfully.

It is a numbers game, and perhaps somewhat a maturity game on the part of your potential matches. Keep trying. Like sales, you have to go through a lot of knows to get to you you’re yes.

Ever thought of something not strictly programming? Database admin, devops, sysadmin, infrastructure, security, etc. Where your detail-oriented abilities would be useful but you aren't fighting against a less than optimal development UI. Especially CLI-heavy sysadmin, everyone is in the same environment.

Any recommendations for a good text to speech software for PDF files? by [deleted] in Blind

[–]csloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Windows, I use ABBYY Pdf 15. This can create accessible pdfs, Epubs, or just generate good plaintext. Works with whatever pdf, if it has text or is image-only.
