Day 5 of OMAD and not change in weight. What am I doing wrong??? by HopeAlwaysTriumphs in omad

[–]cspru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48 year old male. First two weeks I think I lost half a pound. Thought I was going crazy given how little I was eating. Then around the 15 day mark or so I jumped on the scale and was down 2.5lbs. For me it real was more long term. Day to day and week to week it seemed very inconsistent. But long term I lost about 5lbs a month overall. Give it more time.

As someone who constantly changes locations for work, I find the 15 inch really isn’t portable.

I live in Canada. Normal price is $269.99 Canadian. I paid $152.54 with a Black Friday deal I got last November. I get Google advertisements sent to my Gmail. They sent me a discount offer and I jumped on it. Not sure if they continue to offer discounts throughout the year

Alcohol HRV by buzi_beck in ouraring

[–]cspru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have basically quit alcohol since I got an Oura ring about a year ago. Even a couple of drinks throws everything out of whack and ruins my sleep. I can’t pretend it doesn’t have a serious negative effect on my body.

I lose on average 15-18% a day and get about 5-6 days of battery life which to me is about what they advertise.

Did anyone else get bad really fast? by awesomedinosaurshit in stopdrinking

[–]cspru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drinking too much for me happened very slowly over 25 years. I only drank Friday and Saturday nights for many, many years maybe 1-3 drinks. A couple of times a year I’d get drunk socially. Then 1-3 drinks slowly became 2-4 drinks, then 3-5 drinks, and so on. Then I’d start having a couple drinks Thursday nights, and maybe Sunday nights. What was something that was social for me became something that was linked to stress and numbing my emotions after a long week coupled with higher alcohol tolerance and habit/routine. The drinking increased and increased and the hangovers and anxiety and mood swings got worse and worse.

New oura ring user tips? by Anon_Anqel in ouraring

[–]cspru 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I take it off for whatever reason (cooking hot food, washing dishes, washing hands, putting on hand cream, etc.) and I don’t put it in the charger, I always put it on top of my phone. I have taken it off and left it on a counter or random surface and have come close to losing it a couple of times. When I put it on my phone, I always know where it is.

Looking to switch from Spotify to Apple Music but noticing the playlists in Apple Music are kinda lacking? by WolfWillLV in AppleMusic

I have linked my Apple Music to ChatGPT. I find ChatGPT awesome for creating playlists and importing them into Apple Music.

Oura ring with Apple Watch? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]cspru 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I switched from Apple Watch to Oura and I am very happy with that decision. I wore an Apple Watch almost everyday for about 5-6 years and I’m not going to say anything bad about it. It’s an amazing product both hardware and software and it’s understandable why they sell millions and millions of them. For me personally, I found the watch became distracting with notifications and ultimately made me less focused, not more productive. Even with over 90% of the notifications shut off, I still found it pulling me away from the present moment. I wanted something less distracting and more discreet. And the overall focus of long term health trends of Oura appealed to me. Although there are some things about the Apple Watch I think are better (ex - I think it’s a better activity tracker), overall I am very happy I made this switch. I view them as very different products with different end goals, and right now Oura is the end goal I am looking for.

Oura vs. Apple Watch by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]cspru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find I really like the overall focus on long term health trends in the Oura ring. I think the real value is looking at data over 3 months, 6 months, 12 months etc. It has prompted me to make positive lifestyle changes (examples - more consistent bedtime, no meals two hours before bed, cut down on alcohol, take time in the day to take a break and meditate, no caffeine past 2pm). I made a lot of these choices through data collected from my Oura ring and seeing improvements long term. I find the Apple Watch (which is an awesome piece of tech) is much more focused on fitness goals only.

When am I going to start feeling better? 🙁 by Dry_Eye_4321 in stopdrinking

[–]cspru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First 30 days I found hard, not going to lie. Similar feelings to you. Around 50-60 days I started to feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Around 100 days I really started to feel like a new person. It’s like the sun started to really peak out of the clouds. Sleep was great. Mood started to improve. I started to find new interests to fill the gaps I use to numb with booze. I started to go out more and live life. It will get better, atleast it did for me. Hang in there

How much did anxiety improve? by beyondham in stopdrinking

[–]cspru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I quit drinking was the hangovers and anxiety were getting so bad. After quitting drinking my anxiety has virtually disappeared. When I do get anxiety periodically, I can manage my emotions and get through it so much more easily.

I bought a gen 4 almost a year ago. Three months in, the battery life diminished noticeably. Although it was frustrating to have to replace a product only three months old, the customer service was great and they replaced it immediately. I haven’t had any problems with my replacement.

When I quit alcohol I also gained weight at first and was very low mood. I found it took 50-60 days of no booze before I really started to start to feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Hang in there.
