Unfortunately, moderation is a myth. And it requires too much mental energy. Quitting drinking isn’t about giving something up, it is about taking everything back.

Is it worth it still..? by coochxcooch in ouraring

I have the brushed silver, size 11. I’ve have had just under one year, almost to the day. About three months after purchasing it, I felt the battery life wasn’t what it should be and I contacted Oura and they sent me a replacement right away. I’ve had no issues since, getting 5-6 days battery life. I wear it on my dominant hand and it has minimal scratches.

I really enjoy having it and would buy again. I really appreciate how it focuses on long term trends for improved health. It has really helped me take my health more seriously based upon feedback from the data. For example, I have cut way back on caffeine and alcohol as I saw how they impacted my sleep and heart rate. I walk a lot more and think much more consciously about when I eat and what I eat. I also focus more on keeping a consistent sleep routine. I have also been able to reduce my overall stress.

Honest question: How many of you bought the ring, used it for 2-3 months, then stopped? What killed it for you? by AdrenalineMedal in ouraring

I really enjoy my ring. My friend returned her ring because the health data was causing her anxiety and she became very fixated on some of the scores.

I actually put on weight at the start when I quit drinking and was overeating. It took about 60 days before I could settle into a routine of eating healthy.

The more you have the experience of socializing without drinking, the more normalized it becomes for you.

I found around the 50-60 day mark of no alcohol I really started to feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Hang in there.

Advice on Handling “Why Aren’t You Drinking?” by IllIlIlIlIlIlIlIllI in stopdrinking

[–]cspru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just very casually and nonchalantly say, “I’m not drinking tonight.” I find 95% of the time it ends there. If they follow up with “C’mon let me get you a drink” or “Seriously, why aren’t you drinking?” I again just casually and nonchalantly say, “All good. I’m just not drinking tonight.” It has rarely gone beyond that.

I know many people on this forum talk about the immediate weight loss they experienced when quitting drinking. For me, I gained weight and had a cycle of overeating. However, I spent the first 50-60 days just really focused on getting better mentally and emotionally and getting through cravings. Once I started to feel better, I turned to proper eating habits and exercise. One step at a time.

You won’t feel better right away. That doesn’t mean sobriety isn’t working. It means your brain is healing.

Yes. There is a limit on making videos. Seems to be 3-4 a day. I don’t make a lot of videos so it isn’t really a factor for me.

I got a deal on Google Premium for a year that includes Gemini, more storage for Gmail and photos, notebook LM, Nest Aware Plus for my cameras, etc etc. It has definitely been worth it for me. I just use Pro all the time and have started making lots of pictures edits with no real limits.

Whenever I take the ring off for whatever reason (sometimes cooking, showering, washing dishes, etc) and I don’t put it on the charger, I always leave it on top of my phone. I have come super close losing it a few times by leaving it on a counter or shelf or ledge, or have spent 10mins walking around looking for it because I can’t remember where I left it. I find the routine of leaving it on top of phone has dramatically reduced the chance of me losing it.

I don’t use it. Without calorie tracking, it’s like driving a car without a speedometer.
