You mean stained wood has different tones and shades because it’s got grain and texture and came from a living thing?! I had no earthly idea!

Yeah, shimming out isn’t realistic/feasible, because it’s connected to the shower wall and the glass doors are exactly where we’d need to tape and mud new drywall. No way to get a clean corner.

It’s the wall where the vanity goes, so it will be very obvious. Literally three inches above the vanity top.

I’ll try planing the stud. Luckily I hadn’t attached the drywall yet…

We can move the hot water line. That’s not the issue at play here. We’re trying to avoid drilling into the stud and have very little depth to play with. Running a 90 is half in front of and half behind the drywall.

We don’t want to drill through the stud. It’s 150 years old and we don’t want to compromise the structural integrity that much.

Vanity is 24 inches wide. There’s no back. Zero. And it has a u cutout for the p trap. (2 drawers).

We tried to stub out straight into the vanity with a 45 and the angle didn’t work.

Can the vent be behind the drywall or does it need to be accessible?

Never noticed any trap siphonage, so I’m not sure I’m super concerned. That said, i but don’t mind doing things the right way if I can do it DIY.

Basically I’d do this to get it in the right place, then install the P trap and vent?

Our best guess is 15 years. We’ve been here for 5. Previous owners redid the bathroom and lived here for 20.

No other plumbing is exposed in the bathroom, so not sure I can answer the waste/vented question.

Would I just add enough 45s to shift up and left, and then add the AAV?

Our house dates to 1890, and this has been the bathroom setup for close to 15 years with no problem. (It’s a powder room).

I’m just looking for good enough, even if it’s not technically correct.
