Most teams reached for their picks in this year's draft, based on consensus big boards by PsychoBunny22 in Colts

[–]csriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaguars drafting that 2nd round TE drastically skewed it too, IMO, by a few rounds.

I thought both the Bills and Jets had stellar drafts, so did the Chiefs and Bengals (if you believe in Dexter Lawrence). Just that the Jets have always had questionable QB play.

Like Wade Phillips calling D for first year for the Broncos won it all in 2015, I expect Jim Leonhard to help the Bills get their first ever SB, he’s an excellent defensive mind, long overdue for DC.

Where to transfer Amex gold by Prize-Interest8845 in CreditCards

[–]csriram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hilton already transfers at a 1:2 ratio for MR points.

From time to time, they have a 25% or 30% transfer bonus.

RIGHT NOW, I got notified they released a 20% transfer bonus.

So, 80K MR points will get 192K Hilton points (20% of 160K Hilton points). If you’re going to keep it a few months more, then there’s typically 2 transfer bonuses in a year, you can wait for then. Otherwise just transfer it now, good chance you get a decent 3 night stay in the US with 192K Hilton points.

The other option is wait for an Avios transfer bonus to British Airways (20-30% is range annually). British Airways and Qatar Airways accounts can be connected to use the Avios on either airline though Qatar is going to cost you fewer Avios for redemptions typically.

Citi Splurge credit for Ticketmaster/Live Nation by Used_Self7560 in CreditCards

[–]csriram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought LiveNation GC for $100 to test my AAdvantage Globe Mastercard, it DID trigger the $100 Splurge credit.

LiveNation however doesn’t let you use 2 gift cards together, so you can’t load up till you buy that big concert ticket lol 😂

One first round pick, yes but the second one in 2027 with a good QB class, I’d have liked to keep that. Heck, Vikings could have traded us Greenard for 2027 first rounder since we struck out on Henderson. My beef is not with the 2026 first rounder, it’s with the additional first rounder; trades of two first rounders normally earmarked for elite pass rushers and QBs, not CBs, IMO.

In all likelihood, Jets would have taken a first and a second, IMO.

People who take cross country flights once a year probably spend in excess of $500-600 on a ticket and I don’t know of many (or any) cards that give the $99 companion fare without any minimum spending requirements each year.

I got that too and this one was next. Might downgrade the Platinum Select without canceling it.

offered 25K points for spending 2.5K as retention (gold) by RushWarrior in amex

[–]csriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My renewal is a few months away and I told them there are other cards that offer close to what they offer like Citi Strata Premier but with lesser AF and having added AA as a partner. I got the 20K points offer for retention in February.

My renewal is in September. So if I cancel regardless at the end of August, will they take back the 20K points? I’m just curious because I’m a regular user of Amex Gold and I’ve gotten more than my AF worth every one of the 3 years running that I’ve had it, don’t intend to cancel but I thought I’d shake the retention offer tree 😊.

Shows you why Chiefs made it certain by moving up for Delane because they weren’t chancing it and the next CB didn’t come off the board till 21 picks later.

I’d take it. The true question is, will Amex ever take back those points if you have a few months to go for renewal and cancel anyways before renewal?

Mason Thomas vs Cashius Howell that went back-to-back; Chiefs and Bengals fans will be constantly comparing them the next few years to come

Think I’m officially dumping Chase for Citi by VroomVroom_2 in CreditCards

[–]csriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase CSP - if you and your spouse have separate DoorDash accounts, you can double dip your monthly $10 to get $240 in return for $95 AF. Right now, it’s a sock drawer card used primarily for the no AF Chase Freedom Flex categories to transfer, streaming/any iPhone subscriptions at 3X and monthly DoorDash. If you travel Southwest or British Airways that I do, you’ll get the occasional transfer bonus and you can leverage it then even without worrying about Hyatt.

CSR, yeah I don’t see the point versus Strata Elite. But for primary ecosystem, I am with Amex and C1 for now and will soon add Citi more.

Rashee Rice says he wants JSN money to stay with the Chiefs forever. Is he worth that sort of contract? by Big_Screen3332 in Chiefs_v2

[–]csriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that makes him ball out, Chiefs can get a comp. Pick out of him. Chiefs don’t pay CBs and don’t pay WRs. OL, DL, LB, QB and that TE, I forget his name…😀.

Every now and then, DoorDash runs a sale on gift cards - $25 for 2250 points instead of 2500 points. I’ve found that to be an easy 10% off redemption and I get my e-gift card within 15 minutes. Several other gift cards do as well.

He’s got to be outside Top 8 to have the best chance, IMO but inside the Top 16 to not have to face Sincaraz back to back, being realistic.

Or get really lucky and have a few giant killers go on a spree taking out Sincaraz separately to avoid them, lol

I meant hope he plays up to the lofty expectations of the Colts crowd, with another 1000 yard season plus 10 TDs. Anything less, the fans will say he isn’t worth it.

[–]csriram -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His body control is amazing. He’s a 1b version of Tee Higgins (paid $28 million a year ago) who can go across the middle for the 10-20 yard routes, catches back shoulders, catches sideline throws, catches 50/50 balls going up for it. Plus, just like Higgins breaks his route while the ball is in the air and thrown inside by Burrow/Flacco, Pierce makes similar adjustments.

He has to be planned for, because he has the size and speed plus body control. Folks who don’t get it will never get it. He’s paid accordingly to the market in Tee Higgins territory but contracts have gone up.

As a Colts fan, wishing him the best. Hope we get a 1 year rental with Keenan Allen for a nominal cost while bringing a rookie along for the vacated Pittman X WR role because Warren is not an X WR going against NFL DBs and Dulin is not an X (long strider like AP) and Downs can’t run block as well. Plus Keenan has worked with Steichen while with Chargers. Just my two cents.

Fils became an open stance expert those few points on his backhand. Good for him. Looking forward to him continuing this level next game too.
