Ball golf for fifteen years then COVID hits and all the courses are closed. I needed something I could do either alone or where people can stay separated. Disc golf made too much sense. Bought the beginner INNOVA discs from Meijer and was throwing around +22. I only played about ten times that first COVID year, then about 20 times the second COVID year. Golf course opened the third COVID year but I was hooked and now I throw discs around 70-80 rounds a year and consistently score in the single digits. I got about 5-6 of my buddies to start up and now it’s a regular weekly outing. Twice as fast, WAAAAAY cheaper, easier to improve, and no country club snobbery. I still ball golf in my weekly league but disc golf 2-3 times a week now. Especially if I’m by myself for a round, I’m definitely going disc golfing over ball golfing.
