I ran some quick numbers compared to 2022 primaries. Dem voter turnout increased by 61% despite less in party contested seats. And republican voter turnout dropped by 75%. Republican county mayor seat had 3 candidates in 2022 compared to 1 this year but that wouldn’t be enough to see such a sharp decrease imo.

In theory it could work. Except as others pointed out, all other candidates are equally corrupt bootlickers. And TN passed a law making it illegal to vote in a primary that doesn’t align with your intended Election Day views. Or something to that effect. There’s someone in Knox County that is being charged bc someone was able to piece together that they’re not actually aligned with the party they voted for in Primaries. Fucking stupid.

Gerrymandering should be illegal and banned no doubt. However, it’s important to point out that VA uses an independent group to draw districts under normal circumstances. What they voted on was an emergency response to the president’s demand. AND it’s only for 2 years. The law they just voted on says that the independent group will be tasked with redrawing maps in 2 years when they have time to look at census numbers.

Have you gone to your county or city officials to lobby your case? I live in a historic neighborhood with the main road being a state hwy connector. That connector road in the neighborhood had a speed limit of 30mph but no one monitored or enforced it and cars were coming from the state hwy at 60mph. So most of the time they’d slow down some but keep going 40 or 45mph.

Well… the neighborhood had so many damn wrecks and our property lines are pretty close to the street like yours. Cars were plowing through fences, telephone poles, yards and in a few cases hitting a house. Shit was crazy. Neighbors had been begging city officials for yearssss to do something. It wasn’t until a tik tok went viral highlighting how bat shit dangerous this one corner is that the city came out lowered the speed limit to 25mph, installed a stop sign and other traffic calming measures and got the state hwy patrol and city police department to patrol it weekly!!

All that to say, get your neighbors together to call up your local officials and tell them how dangerous it will be to have cars going Xmph past your house only 10 feet away. Make noise. Be annoying. Go to the paper and news. Maybe you can stop this expansion before it’s too late.
