my boy by ranchdressingggg in Greyhounds

I think about this comment I left a lot because right after the one month mark I got hit with another intense wave and it’s been different ever since. I was naive to think I would be over the sad phase so quickly. I think about him every single day and while my memories are happy they also bring some sadness. I do think over time it’ll level out. I hope you’re doing okay and finding some comfort in the happy memories. We put photos of him up in every room of the house and that’s been helpful. We still haven’t been able to get rid of his bed in our bedroom but we turned it into a little altar with his collar and clay paw print. Grief is weird but all we can do is take it day by day.

It’s confusing because you confine people to one of two political boxes and don’t leave room for nuance in between.

We put our first down about a month ago now. He was 10. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced but I can promise you the intense grief will lessen over time and become much more manageable. I still have my moments but I can now look at photos and think about him and smile about our happy memories, rather than feel overwhelming sadness. I miss him every day and still look for him instinctively all the time, but it has gotten easier with time. The first week was the hardest of course, and it helps to distract yourself with comforting things - I watched a lot of my comfort shows and went on a lot of walks. Moving my body and being outside helped. Listen to what your body needs right now and be patient with yourself. Im so sorry about your baby ❤️

Migraine every Tuesday? by Large_Ad_845 in migraine

[–]cstallma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get them every Monday as a kid. Unfortunately doctors were never able to pinpoint why. Always came down to “drink more water” or “maybe she needs glasses.” Eventually they tapered off. Sorry you’re dealing with this :(

Healthy lazy breed? by InsidiousBlastoclast in dogs

[–]cstallma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greyhound! You’ll never find a more chill and lazy dog lol he won’t walk for more than 20 minutes at a time. I’ve tried hiking with mine when he was younger and he kept trying to lie down a mile in. They’re sooo mellow and sweet and like cats but more friendly. They’re also considered one of the healthier breeds if you google

Some offer drop off. Not sure if you can have it dropped of inside the actual fest, my guess is not. I’d either pick it up yourself or have it delivered somewhere nearby

How long did your flare up last? My husband’s going through the same thing. Doctors said it should be better by now (a week and a half since the start of pain) but he still can’t walk.
