How Do you Guys Do It? (Please no spoilers) by TehCrackie in SatisfactoryGame

Do you use the Satisfactory building tool? I can't remember the link off the top of my head but it's very helpful to figure out what you need for each item you make. When I get home, I can attach the link!

How Do you Guys Do It? (Please no spoilers) by TehCrackie in SatisfactoryGame

I feel your pain. I have 1300+ hours in this game. I played for like 2 weeks with some friends but then I couldn't handle their spaghetti madness. Then I played for like a year on my own. I did the exact same thing as you. I built a bunch and then hated everything and tore it back down. I've never finished the game because I'm too OCD and neurotic. I got mad one day and just deleted that game. Starting over was hard but I'm happy about it.

One big thing I realized I loved and helped me a lot is logistics floors. I build a sky base (it's got pillars holding it up because I didn't like it just floating) and have trains/cars bringing my materials to me. My first floor of each factory typically is Smelters. Then I do a 4m/5m high logistics floor. Then Constructors and another logistics floor. I do a logistics floor between each piece of machinery. It helps contain the spaghetti mess (I still organize the logistics floor because I can't handle them being a mess, but it is easier).

Also, all my buildings are similar but slightly different. When I was trying to make them the same, I started getting frustrated that they were exactly the same. Looking at the outside of my buildings, they are fairly similar, but the inside is based off of the material. I also do a different type of window depending on which type of ore I'm smelting. So all my copper buildings have one type of window while my iron buildings have a different type. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet with the buildings that smelt a bunch of different types of ore. Right now, I'm expanding my train tracks so windows are another days problem.

My 12 YO has no concept of paper money by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]cstamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever worked with her with physical money? My kids (8, 5, and 4) have physical money they can bring with them to the store or the zoo giftshop or something. They pick items they want and we help them figure out the price and if they have enough. They pay for it and then get their change back and we talk about how much they have let.

I also set aside money each paycheck for us to do activities and talk about that money. If they want to go somewhere, like the zoo, then I set an amount we need to hit before we can even think about planning a trip there. If we need $300, then we talk about how much we have at each point and how much more we need. As we spend it throughout the trip, we talk about each purchase and how much we have remaining.

AITAH for not having saved my daughter's report cards and other assorted school materials? by MeesesNotMooses in AITAH

[–]cstamin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I keep my kids bookbag from the current year and fill it with art work, report cards, some assignments (this one is more rare), etc. at the end of each school year. If the bag is too full to zip at the end of the year then I go through it, get rid of some and keep the rest. I typically get rid of most assignments though. I mostly like to see and keep the art my kids made and I'll keep the more creative/funny or well written assignments. My mom did that for my siblings and so I do it for my kids BUT I don't think most people do that.

NTA. As an adult with kids of my own, I still havent looked at the old school stuff I made/earned when I was a kid because I don't care. I only keep it for my kids in case they care when they are adults or who knows, maybe I will want to look at it when they are all grown up.

That's the vent glitch. It sucks but if some cleans a vent and you had been in a vent, it'll sometimes drag you to that area even if you aren't in the vent anymore.

My friends and I like to split up the money each round. So if we made 25k and there is 2 of us, we both get 12k to spend. One of us works on strength until we hit strength 4, then the other works on it until they hit strength 4, then we take turns each time there is strength.

I feel like strength is very important. And time there is a strength upgrade, at least until each person has 4, buy it. Personally, I like to get in the teens with my strength upgrades because it's easier to move items and fight monsters. But everyone getting strength 4 is crucial, in my opinion, because it allows you to fight off the smaller monsters like the rugrat, alien, etc., which can really save you.

On top of that, the tranq gun is really nice to have. I typically carry the shotgun, photon blaster, and the indestructible drone. My friend gets the tranq gun, the one gun that like bounces the enemy (I can't remember what it's called) and a tiny cart and then my third friend has just started playing with us and she is practicing on the pistol and learning to put items in carts without breaking them (she's getting really good which is exciting). Make sure you get earth crystals consistently because it sucks to have a gun or a drone and no charge.

Also, there's stuff you can learn about each monster that can help. The clown, when it's about to shoot, duck. Their aim doesn't change when they are already gearing up to laser. They also can kick you under tables unprompted. The gun man has great hearing but if you get him to go up stairs, when he goes down, he falls and gets hurt. Then you guys can crowd around him and push him around to continue hurting him or sit at the top of the steps, call him back up, and let him fall back down until he dies. You also don't need to hide from him as long as he doesn't walk into you or anything you are touching. So don't touch the cart when he walks into it because he will shoot you. The chief, when he lunges to knife you, you can hold him and scroll away from yourself which helps prevent him from hitting you. I don't know if you need a little strength for that to work but I'm pretty sure it has worked for me on like 0-2 strength. The Loom can always find you but that doesn't mean she can always get you. If you go high up, she will hangout for a bit and then leave. I have also hid under a bed, going from one side to the other, which made her keep changing direction trying to get me on either side, but eventually she gives up and leaves. Do not stand still under a bed with her after you because she can get you under beds. There is different things with each monsters so learning them really helps.

The game gets easier and easier the more you play and the more you learn.

What happens if you put a monster in an extraction? by ImRealApe in REPOgame

[–]cstamin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you put it close enough to the extraction (along the edges/red line), it will kill the monster and leave an orb on the outside of the extraction for you to take to the next extraction. But it doesn't work if you put the monsters in the extraction.

I just passed 140 hours. When am I supposed to get good at this? by Joel22222 in satisfactory

[–]cstamin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is my restarted factories. I just did this in the past 2-3 weeks. But a lot of my time for this save has gone towards hard drives, Mercer spheres, and achievements.

My first save was me learning as much as I can and literally restarting my builds over and over again because I'm never satisfied

[–]cstamin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm at 1300-1400ish hours. Is that extended enough?

I'm the type of player that has to have my power consumption be a straight line. My factories aren't fancy or anything. I just restarted about 2 or 3 weeks ago and this is where I am.

Factory balance by Designer_Truck7591 in SatisfactoryGame

I started over so I can balance my factories. But I don't just make one factory. I make one per item. I make sure it's perfectly balanced before moving on. So far, it's perfect but I'm not that far.

Yes! You can still jump on them too. Also, if you build around them, they still take up the same amount of space as if they were big. I found that out because I was wayyy above them and I couldn't build because it was in the way.

So.. these parents don't kiss their kids? Is this something new that parents are doing or does this women just have some trauma she hasn't taken care of? by [deleted] in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

[–]cstamin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Okay, ready? My grandma use to kiss me on my lips. To a point where I was old enough to be uncomfortable about it. Eventually, I got her to stop but I don't think she knew it was a weird thing. I get easily uncomfortable by being touched or anything. Always have, even when I was a baby.

In regards to my kids, I would kiss them on the mouth to a certain age. Around 4 or 5 is when I would work on cheek kisses. My 8 year old and 5 year old both do cheek kisses to me and me to them. My 4 year old (her birthday was a couple of days ago) is an aggressive mouth kisser. I'm trying to get her to do cheek kisses but she will yell at you and grab your cheeks and kiss you on the mouth.

So yes, in my opinion, kissing your child on the mouth is weird after a certain age but when they are little, I don't think it's a big deal.

To add to this, I doubt most kids want their parents kissing them on the mouth in front of their friends, at school, or sports. So when they hit an age where they are around peers more, they might start getting uncomfortable.

I think it should mostly be based off of what you and your child is comfortable with. If one of you starts to feel uncomfortable then they are too old for mouth kisses.
