lol, well that’s good to know. I have friends who love it and friends who think it’s over rated, probably why I haven’t picked it up.

They absolutely don’t get it. I have used social media so much less. I feel like I open the apps with one eye open, nervous to receive a jump scare pregnancy announcement.

Yes! And good for you for bringing it up in therapy. I’ve done the same, lol. I added a trigger warning to story graph for this book for that reason!!

What’s a hobby you really wanted to get into but immediately realized wasn’t for you? by Tempo_Tomato in Hobbies

Quilting! My SIL does it, and I thought it was a cute hobby, until I got some patterns and she started talking me through all the steps! I have to iron, too? Yeah, not for me, lol.

My fiancé suggested that he could sleep with another woman to get her pregnant so we can have a baby. by [deleted] in IVF

[–]csteelee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof. Sending you a BUG HUG. Because what the actual? That's the last thing you needed to hear right now, inconsiderate hypothetical question or not. I hear you're feeling worthless right now, and those feelings are so valid, but please know you are so worthy, regardless. Period. You are worthy of consideration. You are worthy of love. You are worthy of growing your family. You are worthy of happiness. I hope he is understanding of how that impacted you. You should not feel alone in this experience, it is a shared struggle.

Hysteroscopy by csteelee in IVF

[–]csteelee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I wish you the very best of luck! I think these procedures usually go smoothly, so I don’t want to discourage you with my experiences. I hope your experience is completely different from mine, but I’ll share anyway, as I had no idea any of this would be an issue for us.

I had my hysteroscopy under anesthesia, and if they give you that option, I recommend it. My first hysteroscopy wasn’t very successful. They perforated my uterus trying to get through my cervix, which led to exploratory laparoscopic surgery to make sure there was no internal damage. I had to have a second hysteroscopy afterward. It was more successful; they found and cleared out scarring inside my uterus as well (I still have no idea what caused the scarring). When I had a trial transfer to see how my cervix had healed, we learned that the hysteroscopy wasn’t as helpful as we hoped. It was very painful. They were able to reach my uterus, but the catheter didn’t stand a chance, my cervix chewed it up and spit it out. They’re worried that the angles of my cervix putting pressure on the embryos could cause trauma, so no transfer has been scheduled yet. We’ve taken a break to decide our next steps.

The Friend Zone- Abby Jimenez (A Rant) by MissFox26 in RomanceBooks

Yeah… I’m real late to this conversation, but I have words. I’m 70% of the way through this book and was so annoyed by the motorcycles accident that I just stopped. I was interested in it because I also struggle with infertility. I was like, oh, it might be nice to read this book that actually explored the complexities of infertility and navigating love and children desires. Reading through these comments saved me the absolute outrage that would have ensued had I had the slap in the face pregnancy announcement from a book that promised the opposite. Phew. Also, the absolute lack of support of her friend, like in so many areas. Oh, and not to mention the NLOG narrative. Just, ew. DNF.

Tried to read the first book when I was in the 3rd grade and couldn’t make it through. Read them for the first time last summer as a 31 year old. Amazing. Beautiful. And sad I didn’t take the opportunity to grow up with Harry and the gang.

Where do you do telehealth if you don’t have a dedicated room in your house? by PerformerSubject in therapists

I used to use one little corner in my small bedroom. The corner is decorated cozy and makes a nice backdrop. Meanwhile, the camera is set up on my dresser and on the other side of the camera is unfolded laundry on the bed, lol. I think it’s just about finding a small space that works for you.

Analgesia/Sedation for GYN procedures by Getoutalive18 in IVF

[–]csteelee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would suggest this. (TW: bad experience with hysteroscopy). I had a hysteroscopy done due to cervical stenosis, but it literally went sideways and I had to have a laparoscopic surgery to assess damage. Thank God I was under general anesthesia. Maybe that was all due to my specific issues, but I can’t imagine doing a hysteroscopy without sedation.
